I'm in the market for my one and only semiauto shotgun. Not interested in a pump gun. It will be used primarily for HD and the occassional turkey hunt. Number one priority for me is reliability, quality, followed by parts availability, and lastly appearance. I'm looking at the Mossberg 930 Field/Security Combo due to it's low price, but having great difficulty finding any FTF....

Seems I'll be doing some shooting at a range that only allows steel shot. My 1100 if fairly new (2-3 years) but I have never used anything but lead target loads previously. Nowhere can I find whether it is advisable to use steel shot in this shotgun, not even the factory manual. Any ideas? Thanks.............. _________________ "Life's too short to worry and life's too long to wait" -Todd ...

Hi Folks, I've just spent over 3 hours trying to figure out how to remove the adjustable comb from the stock. There are 3 screws. The two outside screws loosens the comb (about 3-3.5 turns counter clockwise) so I should be able to remove it. I know the middle screw is for the memory and that screw should not matter. Do I pull up? Jiggle and pull up or jiggle and pull back? ...

My wife had herniated discs c5 and c6 fused in 1998. She has full range of motion and recovered nicley. She has shown a casual intrest in participating with me at Trap on occasion. She has asked her Dr. about this activity and the Dr. was very negative about her participating for saftey concerns. The Dr. I feel, has never shot and doesnt know how much or how little energy is being ...

What do you guys use to clean your black plastic stocks? H2O is not that good to remove sweat etc. Anyone ever try to coat with car wax or polimar (however you spell it) after you clean it?

How many trap/skeet/sporting clays shooters does it take to change a light bulb? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb"...

I went thru my first hurricane in 1947 (age 7) and a whole lot more since then. Gustav was supposed to go in west of us and instead he dead centered our area. I have a weather station here at the farm and recorded 1 1/2 hrs at just over 60mph with gusts up to 94mph. A 60ft Hackberry is down on the equip. bldg(missed the reloading room). Six other trees are down while two 100 yr old giant native ...

Killing a wounded bird differs from country to another. How do you kill your bird, by slaughtering it, by breaking his neck etc..? Is there any other ways to kill a wounded bird? _________________ Hussein

I've whetted the appetite of a friend for clay sports and am being asked for a first shotgun recommendation. He's only shot my Ruger 20 gauge Sporting Clays for 50 shots and liked it. Perhaps a bit more drop necessary at comb and some complaint about the heel digging in his chest (he's a big guy). Note that I believe the proposition that the best shotgun is the one with which you ...

I've always bought shotguns that "felt" right. You know, you go to the store, you shoulder it and point it and it's either on or it's off and that's that. It's an entirely individual, subjective thing. I've never had a gun fitted per se. I did have a gun I owned that was being repaired that does fit commented on (by a fitter) that it did not fit me. By the book, it should have been ...

Has anyone heard anything good or bad, or had any experience with the Remington 11-87 Sportsman Super Mag Waterfowl. I have been hunting with a Remington 870 and now looking for a semi-auto for waterfowl hunting. Should I buy the Remington 11-87, look at other semi-autos, or stay with the Remington 870?

First day of squirrel season kills me. Every mutant who just turned old enough to buy a gun has to get his hunting license so he can go out an play Rambo with a bunch of his idiot friends shooting up anything in the woods that moves with his brand new semi-auto 12ga that the little freak probably didnt even pay for. Never fails. Happened in Ohio and this is the second time in 3 years ...

I'm in the market for an elite waterfowl shotgun. Was looking for opinions from people that might have had, use and/or are knowledgable about top tier waterfowling shotguns. I've been using a Benelli SuperNova for the last 7 seasons and have had nothing but good things to say about that gun. Awesome gun. But more suited for the beginner/intermediate waterfowler. That being said, I'm ...

I am "needing" a new shotgun. i have been shooting the same 870 for 20 years and I want to treat myself to a semiauto. i had a Super Black Eagle a few years back and sold it, i wish I didn't. I am having a very very hard time choosing between the M2, Urika2 and the Extrema2 with or without the K/O. The M2 feels a little better in my hands but the gas operated system is appealing to me. I shoot an...

The last time I took my mossberg 500 out to the skeet range the gun gummed up about 30rds in and I broke the discharge bar. Yesterday I went over to a buddies house to mess around with his pigeon thrower and about 40rds in the gun starts gumming up again. Not as bad this time but its bugging me. I clean my guns completely after every use, light oil (Hoppes) and it cycles like glass, but it...

I have a Win Mod 21 with 2 barrel set. One set is a little bit sloppy. I was told that it was possible to twist a screw somewhere and it would tighten up the lock up. One person told me the screw was in the stock and one person told me the screw was on the barrels. Does anyone know first hand? Thanks! God Bless
