As i Understand it the Steelmaster is a Sizemaster setup to handle steel shot reloads. So if I say had a 12 ga Steel master could I convert it to a .410 sizemaster? wouldn't i just need the sizemaster .410 die set?

Can someone tell me the difference between the R12H Remington wad and the RXP12 wad from Remington. Is either one better suited to field use vs clays or something, I see that they are both 1 1/8 oz loads so whats the difference Thanks Rick

Nice work with the pictures. I had considered getting one of those, but my bud talked me out of it about 4years ago. Still not sure if I made the right move. I do like those Green Presses. _________________ Please forgive me if I have offended you, as it was not intended! Diplomat or typist, I ain't! Enjoy this: http://katesmith.org/

I have finally loaded 250 AA's (the dark gray kind) and finished shooting them all yesterday afternoon at the local 5 stand. They did OK (notice I didn't say I did OK). The recipe: -Win 209 -17.5gr Titewad -Rem Fig 8 -1.125oz lawrence Magnum (by weight) -loaded on mec9000g w/universal charge bar and metal powder baffle I have almost 1000 nitro hulls and probably 150 more ...

I'm currently reloading with Clays, I was thinking of going with Clay Dot. What are your opinions, good or bad if any about this new powder from Alliant ? I've been reading that it is equal to Clays, but haven't found anyone to talk to that is using it. Or is there another Alliant powder that is more popular that is as clean, and can keep me under 9000 psi with a 1oz load....

Earlier this year the info that Downrange was going to intro a line of shotshells was posted on this forum. Anyone have an update? Also, IIRC, Kevin posted that Downrange was planning on intro'ing the Charles Hammack 16 gage wad as well as a steel shot wad and a less expensive target wad. Charles has posted on 16ga.com that the mold for the 16 gage wad will be done this month. Any...

I happened upon an RCBS Grand reloader, 12 gauge new in the box for $499. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking? I see the MSRP is much higher judging from the manufacturers site and some on-line dealers? I do not not load shotshells right now, but have nearly 100,000 rounds of metallic experience. _________________ A rifleman in training in awe of all good shotgunners

I am trying some 3/4 oz. loads in AA shells. I am using 17 grains Red Dot powder, Win 209 primer and Fed 12S0 wads. How far do I have to seat the wad? Does it have to be tight on the powder or just far enough in to clear the crimp. When using such a baby load as the 3/4 oz, it seems as the shot is lower than the crimp line causing a dipped in crimp. Please explain before I go any farther. As ...

I got smitten again with shotguns after having been into rifles and pistols for the last 10-14 years. I used to shoot alot of 12 ga but my former gun buddies and I dropped out of it along time ago. Any last year I got a rossi youth matched pair .22 lr and .410. I've set that up as a combo back pack rifle and survival gun with a compete survival kit in the but stock and a multitool in the forearm...

For everyday... shots inside 35 yards is it just me or is speed nothing but marketing hype? Lets face it... every now and then the reloaders have a mild blooper. The more we reload the fewer incidents per actual shells we see, BUT we still see them on occasion. How many times do those bloopers actually break a target? A LOT! Yesterday one of my shooting/hunting/reloading ...

Why would someone do that? The duster wad is not the correct wad for the HS hull. It is made to fit the CF hull and not the HS hull. It predates the HS hull. Do you try diesel fuel in your gas requiring car? _________________ Please forgive me if I have offended you, as it was not intended! Diplomat or typist, I ain't! Enjoy this: http://katesmith.org/

Hey Gang... After reading the thread on which grease to use on the collet, and then the thread from CN on how to get at the collet to grease, I have a few of questions. Which gear oil is OK to use? I have some synthetic 75w-90(amsoil sever duty) - will that work? How do you grease the collet side up against the bottom of the loader? What grease do I use on the reloader in...

Evening, I find that after I crimp my shells, a day or two later the crimp starts opening. Any ideas why this would be happening? Appreciate the feedback. Frank
