I'm trying to help a relative with cell phone issues. But she's on ATT, which is a GSM network which uses SIM cards, while I've always been on Verizon and know next to nothing about SIM cards and GSM phones. Her phone got damaged. It still can text, but not make phone calls. She just started working and can't afford a new one. My wife and I found an older one that is for the same ...

Well about a month ago, I had the opportunity to send my friends and family a shout out from the sandbox, as well as a motivated "Go Dolphins" send off to the team. They will apparently play it on the jumbo-tron during their home games. I am now very happy to pronounce my family is now receiving free tickets to the game. My Dad finally gets to see me play at an NFL game. I don't get many ...

Well it's getting to be that time of year again, televisions across the nation will fixed on footbal games for better or worse. What are your picks for the year. What are your favorite teams and why. Also include college picks and favs. I don't really do well picking or predicting, but I do have teams that I like to support for one reason or another: Since I live, born and raised in ...

I've heard some tales about bitter winters and heavy snows when the acorns fall off of the trees early. We've had acorns falling for the last 6 weeks and the leaves started changing and falling last week. This is about a month earlier than usual. What wive's tales or farmer's almanac prediction have you heard about associated with early acorns?

Thoughts from across the pond: An email from Ireland to the brethren in the States...a point to ponder despite one's political affiliation: We, in Ireland, can't figure out why people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States this November. On one side, you had a pants wearing woman lawyer, married to a lawyer who can't keep his pants on, who ...

Yesterday I heard that all of the Walmarts in Alabama were selling out of all ammunition. One clerk finally got curious enough to ask, "Why is everyone buying up so much ammunition?" The man replied, "The Russians invaded Georgia!! We ain't letting them have Alabama!!" _________________ Alumni SAFSP

Hello everyone, Just wanted to brag a little. Just welcomed the birth of a grandson, six pounds five point four ounces and twenty two inches long born August 30 at 2:22 PM. My son named him after two of my favorite people. Bowden Paul, mother and baby are doing fine and hope to come home from the hospital Monday. Sorry but you will have to furnish your own cigars. _________________ Live ...

No, not the $3K kind, I'm not shooting comps with one, I'd like one to be ~$200 or so and accurate enough to shoot 1.5" groups at 25 yards and retain enough energy to take out a ground squirrel. Am I asking too much of one in this price range? Believe it or not, I've never owned a real pellet gun. I assume a .22 would be best? _________________ Steve

MEMORY TEST! This is NOT a pushover test, well except that it may be for you. There are 20 questions. Average score is 12. It will help if you are over 60, not that YOU are, of course! This one will be difficult for the younger set. Have fun, but no peeking! When you forward this to your friends/family, put your score in the subject line & let them know your score. Don't forget to ...

You may want to take the time to vote on this oneĀ
With the exception of maybe 1 or 2 here on SGW, I am sure most folks want to preserve our traditions. Here's your chance to let the media know where the people stand on our faith in God, as a nation. NBC is taking a poll on "In God We Trust" to stay on our American currency. Please send this to every American you know so they can vote on ...

Hi, I realize this does not affect you guys in any way, but if you could sign this anti-handgun ban petition to help out your friendly neighbours to the north, I would really appreciate it. It is already hard enough for us to own handguns here and there is alot of talk about the liberals pushing for a handgun ban if they get into power. The anti-gun mayor of Toronto,David Miller, ...

Well folks, today is Labor day, and as most of us pretty much call it, the last big weekend of summer. Autumn is undoubtedly is one of my favorite times of the year, and will be here before we know it. Not just because hunting season comes in, but its just something that has been in my blood as a kid that loves it when the days get shorter and become cooler, and the leaves change colors and start...
