Researcher, I think my Remington Skeet gun is a three shot. When I dig it out, I'll see what the markings are. I have had this gun for many years. I don't get to Clark Brothers once every five years. I have one prize from John Clark and will probably never find another one. Cass, that is a fine looking Browning beavertail. I have seen a couple, but never one in high enough condition to pay for. Yours is nice.

I have a mid-1950s A5 12-gauge standard weight that was given to me by a widow I worked with for helping her sell her late husband's 30+ pre-64 Winchester Model 70s. It came to me in a two-barrel case but only had a vent rib skeet choke barrel. It doesn't have a large forearm. Here is the A5 Skeet Gun listing from the 1938 Browning brochure --

cynergy mishap
Published (2009-11-28 20:48:00)
He's owned this gun for three years and shoots ~300 rounds a week? That's about 46,000 rounds down the barrels and this is the first problem? Yeah, it's dirty. While he's in there, he might consider replacing the springs. Probably doesn't need it, but it can't hurt. A lot of people have been wondering about how the Cynergy will last over time. I'd say this is a pretty good indication that they last OK.

The poly is a great option. Especially when a 600 dollar Hastings barrel is not an option.

Not with my cynergy, but have had similar problems with K80s and Kolars. Sounds like a classic fan-fire, possibly resulting from fatigue/sloppy mount. Making sure to be SAFE, try firing the gun one handed. Most guns with mechanical triggers will fan-fire when fired this way because there is nothing to "activate" the inertial block. If it is a fan-fire, shooting lighter loads and/or holding ...

You bring up a good point - no one should settle for the (often) crummy factory adjustable comb stocks from Browning or Beretta. However, there are many high-quality aftermarket companies who can perform the work at reasonable prices. Glad you're pleased with Greg Hissem. Ken Rucker at Speedbump Stockworks is another good vendor, as is Graco themselves. Maybe people don't realize how ...

The center beads and the forearm style indicate that your gun is a target gun, while the barrel length and flat rear surface of the butt pad indicate that it’s a Skeet gun (rather than a Trap gun). On the left side of the monoblock, above and below the top ejector, you will see some stampings indicating the choke of each barrel. Yours are probably both marked with **$ which would be Skeet chokes....

I have a Cynergy Lightweight model that I purchased last summer at a going out of business sale. I haven't replaced any of the wood on it but I did remove the stock and forearm and refinished them. The metal work on the forearm is easily removable with the use of hex wrenches. The nuts seem to stay in place while you unscrew the bolts or you can hold them in place with finger pressure. Piece of ...

If it works now, there is no reason to think it won't continue to work. Briley and Kolar, as well as Browning would have done a reliable job of conversion. Chances are, one of the three did the conversion. How do you know it wasn't one of the guns that came out of the Browning factory with a mechanical trigger? I don't know how to tell.

The only reference I could locate concerning a " C" prefix serial numbered guns from around 1971 which were special presentation grades offered to Browning at a very good discount by FN to lower their present surplus inventory produced for the European markets. There is no reference to any "c" suffix to serial numbers the only reference is Felix Funken's reference to engraving patterns from the ...
