Hole 8. An uphill par 3 that's a little over 180yds, but it's so far uphill I swear it plays like freaking 220. But when I only have 184 to go, my mind does not want me pulling a freaking 3 wood. So I either step down a club, or I baby-shit the 3W, and in neither case will I make it to that stupid green. Oddly enough on the other course here it's also hole 8, which is a par 3 over water. I always hit it off the back because...

^^^^^So what about those of us who don't keep our handicap are we technically sandbagging? Just kinda wanting to know actually, am I "second" class golfer or something never really cared about that at all..... Just wondering if that's why not many people go out of their way to play with me, either that or they are are intimidated by my roguishly handsome good looks.........

At my home course, #8 is my nemesis. Its only a 9 hole course, so I have to play this hole twice every time I play here. Its a par 4, 485 yard hole with a slight dogleg right. However, there are woods that are OB on the right, and a long thin meandering pond that has fingers that poke out exactly where my balls tend to land. Between the woods and the pond you have a maybe 20yard strip of fairway in which you are supposed to land the ball....

As soon as WBL went back to the G10, he was back to hitting them in the fairway............and nice and long, too. That R9 was not doing him a bit of good. The more he hit the G10, the better his drives got. Laser's post in the recent " newbie questions " thread made me think of this. I don't have a calculated handicap. I just play to play. Most of the time I keep score, but a lot of times I just play through and don't bother. I was playing with a buddy for the first time a couple of days ago and he kept score for both of us (because I wasn't going to bother.) I noticed he was employing ESC for ...

number 10 at our home course gets me every time...I hate that damn hole.....its a 340 yard par 4.....elevated tee box, hit your drive over water, only have to carry about 150, road with a big ditch to your right, pines trees to your left.....fairway is about 50 yards wide but you need to land it on the left side so you have a clear shot to a green thats up hill slightly..if you land it on the ...

My wife has to go on a business trip to a community in SE Kansas called Pittsburg, Home of the Pittsburg State Gorillas. She wants the kids and I to go along, and I'm not excited at all. I posted on Facebook, inquiring some of my friends about what to do for fun in that humble community. I checked and found out that the CC reciprocates with my golf club, so I can get on there for a round. Then, ...

I'm kind of stuck on making a decision about the county tournament out here. As you can probably tell by my handicap (see below)... I'm not one who gets to play often. A few years back, I played maybe 15 times in a season, but since then... it's been 5 to 7 times a season, at most. When I was playing more often a few years back, I played in quite a few tournaments. Most were using your ...

both local course's we play have some crappy greens.....one place the greens, or should I say browns, are all burnt up...no grass, just dirt........and the other place, the greens are so bumpy, they dont roll worth a shit......you have to putt through a canyon to get to the hole sometimes....or so many dang dead spots,..your ball goes through good grass, then bad grass, then dirt, then back to ...

I haven't had a problem hitting the driver all year. No slices. Occassional hook but overall great. Yesterday playing with ejdahl21 and nututhugame I couldn't hit a drive to save my life. Or a 3-wood. Balloon ball slices, the works. I'm 6'0" and weigh 230 lbs. and not much of it is blubber. I'm 62 but feel like 50. I shouldn't be puking out old man drives yet. So I've got...

It's obvious, I'm better off without a driver. Left it at home today. My best score at Valley is 83 and I 3putted on 18 to equal that number. My putting was not so hot and my swing in general was sloppy for a stretch. If I'd had a driver it would have only been worse. I paced off a few yardages, both holes are slightly uphill. 4th hole is 373 and I had 115 in. 16th hole is 458 and I had 201 ...

Cripes, I'm all over the place. I got into a 16 man team match today, 2 best balls. Our group sucked but I felt bad as I was yanking my tee shots left bad. I was getting one shot on the 2nd hole, 610yd. par 5. I ripped that tee shot up the gut, ripped a 13* to 70yds. out then hit a SW thin skipping off the back, damnit. Anything I tried off the tee on the front was going left though. I ended ...

Played with sssmokin and son-in-law today at Waushara CC. sssmokin chips in a 50 yard birdie on hole 9 of the first 9 and then does it again on the 8th hole of the second nine. I've never seen anyone do that before. Two chip in birds in one round. Still got him by 1 stroke... And man was my G10 driver working magic today....

golfed 9 today and aim wise I was money, right at the pin. I don't know if it was me or just being at odd yardages, but was a half a club short all day. I had about 8 putts lip out or be 3/4" outside of the whole. Pace was good all day and line was not bad... just not droppin. Driver, once again the aimer was good, but super low trajectory. Short drives. Chipping saved me from real disaster... no...
