Be fair to the man. He's 5' 8.5"! Think about Kaoklai though... He's only a couple of inches taller, but saying that, Kaoklai is usually about 180 lbs, whereas Manhoef is over 200 lbs! I think the shock factor would have been better with; "&*^% Kaoklai is only 180 lbs and fights heavyweights???".

What a short fucker!! I knew he was short but not that short. I have even more respect for him, he hangs in there with these guys that absolutely tower over him. I'm only 5'6" and 180lbs, i'm not fat either, i just wish i didn't lift weights so much when i was younger, then maybe i'd be more slender and graceful like a Thai fighter. Hard for me to lose muscle that's already there...i even stopped lifting...

He's got good boxing from an mma perspective, but unlike Overeem who had a kick boxing background and camp, Sergei is not known for his kicks, and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to K1 rules. I personally think he'll struggle in this matchup.

yod looked tiny next to parr, pacquiao is a tiny welterweight(5'6") with a short 67 inch reach and does great,versus cotto pacman did even cut weight cotto cut close to 20 lbs.

After the tragedy of Semmy Schilt's sparring partner dying yet another K-1 fighter got some horrible news.
Mike's Gym, training home for K-1 WGP finalist Badr Hari and K-1 and MMA fighter Melvin Manhoef is burned to the ground. The fire started in a building next to the Gym and moved to Mike's Gym. The Gym was located in Amsterdam North.
Fortunately everybody got out there ...

My old Karate Sensei was into KB back in he 80's, he did continious contact. He said that it was fairly popular, maybe like UFC on the cusp of TUF, where a lot of people had a vauge idea of it and knew a few big names.
Kinda sad that KB basically died in the US=(
