Moving to Brazil on 05/06/2009
Hey Guys,
Just as the title says I'm moving to Brazil for 6 month to train. I'm super excited but it's been a long road of getting everything put together. The passport, the visa, living arrangements, raising money and dealing with injuries.

They tend to overuse and interchange the term with All-American.
All-American =/= world class. It's the top 8 placers in the NCAA tournament, which is a pretty high level considering, but not unbeatable like they make it sound.
And it's not as if Americans are the best wrestlers in the world. On an international/Olympic level, they're behind the Russians and other neighboring ...

I use this all the time, mainly to counter the underhook. I like one hand around the head as deep as it can go, and the other scooping or pulling up their top leg to prevent them basing and coming on top or sweeping me back. Control of their top leg is key to beating that instability you're talking about.
My favorite move from this series is the kimura, though. If they have a weak underhook...

maybe he really didn't think it was a big deal. But if he starts getting tapped by blues and purples he will change his tune. Judo guys tend to do stuff like that, say stuff like "isn't it the same thing?" and then they take a few classes. Then they come back with a white belt.

I wanna find out more about this place/guy and if it's a legit place to train as I am trying to find a new BJJ place. I am a purple belt, I called the place and said Jucao teaches most of the classes and it's about 175 a month being less with contract and even less with autopayment. I did a search and nothing came up. Does anyone train there? If so, tell me more about ...

You don't win or lose in the club. If you are, then it's definitely losing - regardless of which of you taps.
That said, understand that you don't have the tools yet to deal with a random spaz off the street etc with certainty, especially one that outweighs you.
