Prob nowhere near the best but a guy at my gym just wears rugby head gear. Keeps the ears pinned and protected and is soft and not bulky. Ive been headbutted by him before and its like being hit with a pillow.

Reaping can blow up your knees. Heel hooks are illegal in the gi, and a knee reap can quickly become a hands-off heel hook, which is why Galvao got so angry. If a ref sees you trying this it's possible you'll get called on it.

I think if Karelin was in UFC 1 he would of dominated the field, unless there was a flash KO. Him against Royce in their primes would be something to see.

I train at Gracie Barra in Irvine. It is the best place I have ever trained in my life. The students have great attitudes. The instructors are top notch. I like the atmosphere. I have improved more here than anywhere I have trained. I can't say enough good things about the instructors. They are really good.
The only downsides are that the classes can be large sometimes and I think ...

You said you used it earlier???? Does that mean you don't any more? If so why did you stop? Does this style of guard opening make it alot easier to deal with a cross collar grip as you don't really have to fight it trying to regain posture?

Sounds like he's suffering from a condition known as " Baby Blue Syndrome " (not to be confused with " Blue Baby Syndrome") . it's very common and often disappears as mysteriously as it appears; usually after a year or two when the patient realizes that he really doesn't know shit, and can finally start getting a little closer to Roxa.
This is very common nationwide and ...

I think it's fine.
It's like anything. If it hurts, tap. A black belt doesn't tap any more skillfully than a white belt.

That sucks, rolling hard and cranking things are two different things though. I don't have a problem with people who like to roll at a fast pace but cranking heels hooks etc is wrong in practice imo.

I think it has to do more with what you are better at. Most grapplers have a sub that they are most proficient in and chokes are Marcelo's specialty.
If you have superior technique, you should be able to defeat the size difference and submit the guy. This involves understanding exactly how a move works and all of its intricacies. For example on the guillotine, you don't just ...
