Weight cutting and carbs (need...

I see this has already turned into a shit-show, but I'll dance anyways. The body can synthesize glucose from protein and fat. Cutting carbs will cut a lot of water weight (3-8 lbs is typical, depending on your previous carb intake) as you deplete glycogen. If you maintain a very-low-carb diet for an extended period of time (how long depends on how much carbohydrate you are eating), you will go into ketosis. The benefits of ketosis are not...

I just glanced through the thread quickly, but it appears the problem is mainly when you eat chicken breasts or lean ground beef, so wouldn't the obvious answer be chicken thighs (as mentioned above) and regular ground beef? Maybe some ribeyes & beef briskets? I mean it seems like you're saying basically, "I can't seem to eat enough fat when I purposely take all the fat out of my meal."

It's not about just believing something can be done. It's about addressing accurately the very precise obstacles that will be hit along the way of attaining a goal. Idealism does not work in athletics, and neither does a perspective of total uncertainty in order to allow for anomalies. Anomalies are not a standard of measurement, and tangible things like temperature measurement, blood work, and other forms of medical monitoring more...

Eh, before the slaughter allow me to mention one thing. You are not worried about grams of fat per se. You are looking for total caloric intake for the day. Most nuts happen to be pretty high in calories, like almonds. So, if you must have almonds, get the 100 calorie baggies or raw almonds.

I would stick some low-cal protein shakes in after your workout sessions. Especially when you lift. Other than that, fruits and veggies are always good for an anytime snack.

I should point out that the studies testing maximal glycogen repletion rate also tested repletion rate using submaximal glycogen intake with added protein. The CHO+Pro mix almost stimulated the same quantity of glycogen as did the isocaloric CHO mix (35 mmol/kg(dry)/hr vs 40 mmol/kg(dry)/hr). As such, I would actually recommend consuming a mix of CHO+Pro at a ratio of about 2:1. Extending my ...
