Rowing machines can fuck you up..in a good way. Tabata or other Intervals work great on them. __________________ "So long as men live, there are crimes!" The man's eyes filled with wonder. "No, child," he said. "Only so long as men are deceived." - Bakker.

Recovery Objectives Restore glycogen levels - 1g CHO/kg body weight per hour for firdt 2 hours postexercise and 1.2g CHO/kg body weight per hour in 15-30 minute intervals for up to 4 hours postexercise. Minimize breakdown of muscle - Follow the protocol for CHO but use a protein-to-carb ratio of 1 to 4. Restore depleted electrolytes - Sodium, madnesium, potasium, chloride, and calcium. Just go to the wrestling stuff your school does. I guarantee your coach, if he is a half decent one, will have a decent cardio program cooked up for his team. And adding on to that, like I said. Runners run. Swimmers swim. Fighters fight. Just wrestle more, and eventually you will be a lean, mean, cardio freak machine. Kind of. I mean, I weighed around 235 my senior year in HS and I was able to wrestle almost the whole practice (around 3...

Yes, it does increase metabolism but not significantly that it would be suitable as a means of fatloss. It is, however, effective for increasing recovery.

My name is Christo, an Afrikaans speaking South African. I'm a 21 year old final year student of finances at the University of Pretoria. I got interested in MMA to get into shape again. After school my...

I watched a video recently in which Boyle said some absolutely ridiculous things about squats. I mean, things that were so nonsensical I just couldn't believe I was actually hearing it. I'm not likely to put much faith in anything he says anytime soon.

I was on a few different teams from 3rd grade up until high school.
So, in my "expert opinion," I suppose it's just like any conditioning, it depends what you want to get out of it. A sprint's a sprint, LSD is LSD, HIIT is HIIT, and so forth, regardless of whether you're running, biking, swimming, or whatever.
I suppose the only real difference that you'll have to take into account (...

Even though your leg feels great and you have been progressing faster then usual the blood supply to the new ACL has not been fully restored. It takes a long time for the complete revascularization of the ACL to take place.

In my case, I would starve to cut weight. Come competition time, my body was too weak and malnourished to perform at its peak.

Do you train? That will answer your question.
There's a lot more to conditioning than running. Aerobic and anaerobic endurance, strength endurance, etc.
Also add in the fact that as you take famage your cardio will suffer as well, especially if you eat body shots.

the above are good, but you gotta have the aerobic base before doing that .
Make sure you can run 5 miles before you start doing intervals and
complexes. i wouldnt really say tabata is necessaary.

If the inflexibility is inhibiting proper mechanics, sure, if not, I doubt it.
Doing some dynamic stretching or whatnot as part of warming up is a bit different.
