Just noticed this was your 11th fight? Whats your record? And any plans to start fighting for money? Also, was this 155 or 145lbs? I can also see, you have a decent BJJ base. GB avy gave it away along with the good ground skills. You definitely had the advantage there!

Thanks for the responses guys. Like i said before, not the greatest performance but a win is a win and i will take it however I can get it! but i am not so arrogant to think that it was a rough fight ALL because of what I did wrong. It was always going to be tough because he is a good fighter and from what i hear a good amateur boxer. he showed it with great punching power.

I'm curious as to what advice people will actually give him. I have thought about this scenario. I know it seems rash, but is there any way a person could sign up for a fight without enrolling in a gym and getting the head coach to be your manager? The reason I ask this is because perhaps not every person wants to go to a school and have that person say "I need to train you for at least a year before I put you in there"...

Dont jump right into it. I think its best to experience a loss as an ametuer rather than pro so you know how to deal with it. I've seen some guys that have gone undefeated as ammy's then they start out say 0-2 as a pro and they dont know how to deal with it. Just my opinion.

Im 5-0 right now in MMA, dominated most of the competition in my area using superior BJJ. right now I am training for 7 weeks in Thailand on my stand up to round out, and plan on going pro when I get back after 1-2 more fights. __________________ BJJ Blue Belt, BJJ Spokane 5-0 Ammy record Northwest Fighting Featherweight Champ DOminance MMA Featherweight Champ

Besides a winning record, how do you know when you are ready for pro? I know some people just jump right into prize fighting but I'm a person that likes to have all my ducks in a row first. I thought maybe if I won 6 and that would be enough but I see some of you have more then 20 amateur fights. Are you guys planning on going pro?

How long until you went amateur? Hey amateur fighters/pro fighters, Was wondering how long you trained for before you decided you were ready for your first amateur fight? What was your base? What other martial arts did you add to your arsenal, and for how long did you work on it?...

I see a lot of fighters with some pretty weird nicknames and some that are awesome. If you have a nickname (ie. John "The Meat Cutter" Phoenix ) that you use in the ring/cage how did you come by it? Was it a coach? Friend? Yourself? What were the circumstances? (ie, I was a butcher before I was a fighter and I would bring free meat to the gym for other fighters. Thats how I'm "The Meat ...
