Yes, everything is fine. December is just as busy for Jill as it is for the rest of us, so a well earned breather for our yarn vendors is in order!

Whilst visiting the Wool Baa with 'I', I was persuaded to buy him some yarn to make him a jumper. He is 5 and the yarn is Stylecraft Life - Chunky (6mm 14sts x 20 rows). I am after something quick to knit, not too patterned that might fit the bill. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Darn wool weavels
Published (2009-12-09 20:52:00)
I've finally figured it out! After months of ripping back and other so called knitting doings, I have discovered I have wool weavels. The little monkeys keep eating my wool even as I am knitting. I can't believe the cheek of them. Does anyone else have this problem? I have looked on various knitting sites and cannot find any solution to them at all. I am so flustered. We have 2 dogs but don't think they brought them in.

Sock wool question
Published (2009-12-05 12:27:00)
A lot of sock yarns are made up of 75-80% wool to 20-25% nylon bexause the nylon helps to reinforce them and make them last longer. Some have cotton or bamboo in. But you can knit socks out of anything you like. Wool content is good for giving elasticity - pure cotton probably would go too baggy for socks. I like DK for speed but then the socks feel pretty thick and won't fit under some shoes. 4 ply should fit under most shoes!
