White Glaze Voronoi Clebsch...

Beautiful piece indeed. Regarding the breakages, I had one piece printed in "white glaze" which was also a bit fragile; it survived the printing and shipping processes, but not the handling by people who expected it to be as strong as SW&F

In fairness I'm not optimistic about them working properly but I've tried 8 different designs, some threaded, some relying on other methods, so if any of them work then I'll be sure to let people know

I believe this is something Shapeways isn't catching at this time. Hollow models have to have an escape whole. If not the powder gets trapped. If not you're also not getting charged for all that extra material (I believe).

Had a bunch of troubles with UPS after a recent snowstorm, but the models finally came yesterday. I am very pleased with how they turned out. Quarters in images provided for scale. I am planning on giving these as christmas ornament gifts. Attachment: IMG_2664.JPG (Size: 172.57KB, Downloaded 30 time(s)) Attachment: IMG_2666.JPG (Size: 191.84KB, Downloaded 30 time(s))

Hi Shapeways fans, Slice Kilominx is Bram Cohen's variation on David Litwin's Kilominx idea. In this twisty puzzle, bands of ten corners are turned around the inner sphere. Lorenz attractors
Published (2009-12-22 00:21:00)
My second Shapeways order, and it's as exciting as the first! I designed a Lorenz attractor model a long time ago, but couldn't order it until now. I got one in WSF, one in Transparent Detail, and one in White detail. I gave one to my old Differential Equations professor as a thank-you, and he was ecstatic! We agree that there's definitely a niche market for math model tchotchkes--Bathsheba's been a pretty good indicator...

Finally i got my skull ring printed in metal. And it looks awesome! it came out better than i expected, with all the tooths and cracs in the skull clearly visible. Whole set: the small rings came out fantasticly also, considering that the individual strings are only 2mm thick and 2,4mm wide. the bigger one is just the small one duplicated once and shifted sideways. for the cream robust, is he hollow? if so that dark innards are the build material. The way that one is made is a string of melted plastic is built up, it would have to have a tiny extrusion head to equal the detailed of stitched together powder.
