Why introduce a third party plug-in into a stable system if you don;t have to. How much help do you think anyone will get if they post on this board and say: "YO! My Mix Emergency plug-in isn't working Serato sucks! Can't you guys fix this and make your program work better" I would much rather have a rock steady system vs a few extra effects....for now anyways.

FCE is missing some crucial functionality. I'd even take it step further and even say that Final Cut Pro is not even enough. You really want Final Cut Studio. Save up and buy it. It's not that expensive and it's worth every penny and then some.

Regarding the temperature of the MacBook Pro... Do you guys use any kind of covers on your MBPs? i.e. The hard crystal covers or the speck iskins? Would you recommend not using any kind of covers on the MBP due to temp issues?

Yeah. I would imagine anything "later in the night" is cause by either heat or memory issues.

You can try the demo out. With 1.9 the SL1 is able to run video too. The only thing I like about it was the live video feed feature it offers but apples PiP program fixes that with VSL

Don't think people should sleep on this one. New interface is slightly confusing for existing users but Coreaudio encoding on mac means 320kps AAC audio! A vast improvement.

Also has Itch been created so that Serato can "side-step" their agreement with Rane? Very concerned about the future of scratchlive.

By the way, I already know about the mini displayport to VGA adapter and the VGA to RCA converter (already ordered them). My question is more along the lines of system setup/tweaks for the MBP itself.

I am speechless at how much this intro to FCP has helped me. THANK YOU :) The one thing it didn't cover though is exporting to the best VSL settings, are there any tutorials on exporting from FCP?

Thanks for the info. Hundreds of DJs use our videos every day without Keyframe issues. Are you sure it's not the settings on your mac book? We test all videos on both Mac and PC before we release them. Please let us know what videos they are and we can reset them for you and you can try redownloading them.

i do the the exact same thing your are looking to do. i've been using western digital drives to do this. pretty much, right out of the box from pc to mac. no problem.
