Quote: damn. aight thnx. is there time code i can download and put on a CD??i might have my old comp i can use... I have a time code signal on all externals, all computers I ever use. I use records, but if I show up to a gig and no decks, and then worse yet I didn't bring control CD's, I'm covered. Although if i show up and it's a 19" as opposed to table tops i just play internal anyway.

I got the collector's package, regardless of color on vinyl - this is something extremely useful (spinning mostly hip hop). I'm with Dub, some of us had been asking for hip hop tracks on Serato pressings and this is a great release. Thumbs up and I'm ready for the next release - Great job Serato!!!

Quote: Im from L.A. and i saw a flyer either online somewhere or in person of a hip hop event commin in a couple weeks and the Special Guest DJ is.......Talib Kweli. Love him as a lyricist and I think he should jump to deejaying. My homegirl went to something he did here, and she said he sucked as a DJ

Sucks the economy has added more stress to DJ's because a lot of people want the extra income pretending they're DJ's. I personally have never had a roadie but always brought a friend or girlfriend to, like you said, watch the gear while I went back and forth to my vehicle with it.
The best thing would be to find someone who is interested in ...

I don't think you're wrong but you're also not completely right. I see a lot of regulars at my spot. A LOT. And, it comes from building the place up. I get a lot of compliments at the end of the night and I've befriended a lot of those regulars. So, I may not have a following. But, a lot of the people who frequent my residency really are there because they enjoy the DJ.

As you say some are really well made & sound great but I think the main reason lots of dj's fromwn on them is due to the fact that most aint! They are off beat Off key & sound shitty but the well produced ones always seem quite popular.
More so now that the internet has made them more available to your everyday listener!

Those are pretty much your options unless you can up your budget. Maybe a pair of the PRX 15" tops. Then you wouldn't need a sub for most events.

Hard to see his hands but it looks like he's using the FlexFX button trick to engage the echo with the FlexFX button instead of the normal B1-B6 buttons, so he can stay in group 1-5 to trigger cue points.

Im carrying a cheap nike knapsack to my gigs, does the trick tho!
In it is
- Serato Box SL1 with serato CD's
- Akai LKP8
- 15 inch macbook + powercord
- 4 Redbull
- RCA cables
- Belmont ciggarettes
Whoop, same thing, just with vinyl, no cigs, and my laptop stand. Oh and I get the Redbull from the bar. All of mine goes into a big Back-Pack.
