Sonic cannot go bye bye. It is one of the most profitable series, Sega has to clean up the mess. The handheld games are fine and while the 3D games are hit and miss the recent games have gone more to a point where they have stuff to work with even if it means a different type of platformer he originally was.

I would have to say gameplay,(speed and finding the fastest way to get to the finish line) Music,(From all Sonic games except for STBK) Characters,(All of them but my favorites are Sonic,Shadow,and Knuckles) and of course the Chao World(I just love raising them). =]

Regardless of the above statement, Metal Sonic is better. At everything. Period.

I would say subtract pits too. At least save them for caves/temples and space/sky levels.
If I am allowed an add, I would say more underwater segments in 3D games.

i think its old school style no cut sceans stright to the finish and boss at the end of eatch stage like in sonic 2 & 3.
this will be sonic 4 i been waiting all these years for it.
as well as that satam game that never came out -.- and if it does come out i hope im not shot or killed or brain dead.

Though I've never actually played Sonic CD, I still think I'd be inclined to say that S3&K is the best.
