Thank you for prompt reply. Frankly I heard about Genelic for the first time some 2 years ago. Have heard nothing but great stuff about them. The only thing pushing me back from further investigating them was the looks of them. I know one should not care for that kinda stuff when it comes to professional gear but still... I have my better half to consider ;) Anyway I never got to the point of actually listening to...

[QUOTE=Gior]Hi Japandave, You've mentioned that you are not much of an audio freak but yet as far as we can tell from your posts, you are spending fairly big $$$ on your equipment. To get the very best out of your equipment, rather than ordering more equipment, unless you become an 'audio freak' yourself, you'd probably be better off hiring a professional installer (tell Mark, you'll shout him first class tickets on an...

Hi Dave, Regarding how I know you lived in Osaka, you posted on this forum that you lived in Osaka when you posted something about the 50hz and 60 hz differences in AC voltages in Japan. I never realised Tokyo and Osaka ran off different AC frequencies. Gotta be careful what you put up in forums :) Regarding room designers/consultants, being based in Australia I am not familiar with the US guys. In Australia, David Moseley of...

SubMersive(XL's)/TerraformX...
Published (2009-12-27 12:47:00)
I forgot about the most interesting question...The main reason (for me) to consider/prefer sealed subwoofer designs is the excellent transient response. How do the bandpass TerraformXL and the Submersive 2 (per definitionem this isn't a traditional sealed design anymore) designs perform compared to the Submersive 1 regarding this all important metric?

Hi Mark, I wanted to let you know that I got the Sparks 15 minutes ago.  You will certainly be quite happy and relieved to also know that you will finally stop getting private messages from me complaining about the delays !! I unpacked one of them and the speaker looks really good, event better than expected.  Also, congrats for the top notch packaging. I will probably do some test tonight.  They just got out of the...

Not sure.  But everyone who has heard the Catalyst has been very impressed with how they sound.  And are those available?  The Catalyst are.  They look nice but I am not sure how they would compete SPL wise either.  That Catalyst are able to go very loud and stay composed at the same time.  Not sure how those would fair.  The SQ of the Catalyst seems to be top notch.  If...

The SubMersive
Published (2009-12-23 05:07:00)
Hi everyone, I just joined the Submersive family. After several months of lurking in sub forums, I came to the conclusion that the Submersive fit my needs best. I expected a long lead time when ordering, but when I called in my order, Mark told me there was an Espresso version ready to ship. A big thanks to Mark for the time he took on his phone to talk to me. Although I had already decided on the Submersive, it definitely helped to hear his...

[QUOTE=TheLion] Hello Mark, my final decision which particular subwoofer(s) to choose is still pending. Right now I am running dual SVS PB13 Ultras in a dedicated room (6886 cubix feet in size, sealed, pretty extensive acoustic treatment). This just doesn't cut it anymore...sound pressure/quality is not up to the rest of my current setup. I am running 3x ...

All I can say is that this sub is simply fantastic. I think I had one of the biggest grins on my face after Mark set it up and I listened to it. Just incredible SQ and output. This matches what I experienced with the JM Labs Sub Utopia Be. It is a whole other level. I know my room is nothing like Arts. But I am very pleased with the overall results of the sub and calibration.

Hey Eric, Nice choices! Call me jealous... If your room was sealed I would suggest option 1. Many SubMersive owners have rooms that size (and bigger) and get more than enough quality bass. I like option 2 myself based on the fact that the room is open to other spaces (not sure how big) and having that second SubMersive would be a nice plus. You also get the one rear surround which ...

Do you mean the LCR26 or LCR36. The sub itself can probably be crossed over that high. The issue may be that you would out sub your main speakers. Just like any other system, you would need to calibrate your setup. But IMO, if you take your time, you should be OK.
