With regards to the Mandarin pic I must have taken over 150 shots to get that one. I got a few others that are decent but at most 5 total out over 150 shots. I have quite a lag with my point & shoot so I got lots of rubble, tails and blurs. But it was worth it all when you get a good one. I think number 1000 will be muck with maybe a little reef thrown in. Would love to see a rhinopias but there don't seem to be any around right now.

I believe it was an aquarium dive sir. Mandarins do not sit out and exposed like that for mere mortals, therefore you shot him in an aquarium or like I mentioned earlier, you are my superhero! Congrats on dive 1000 tomorrow. Will it be Reef or Muck (or another aquarium picture)?

Also, sometimes I'll rent a BC as they are kind of large but take your own Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Boots, and Reg.

Ultimate Getaway Liveaboard vs....

OK, how in the heck can you make 7 dives in a day? With an average of one hour bottom time, and one hour of SI, you're talking about a 13 hour day. You're NDIs wouldn't let you get anywhere near a full dive, even if using nitrox unless you're making very shallow dives. Not saying it couldn't happen, but that's not really the type of diving I want to do.

Some others in my group had only 7mm, not FJ. One guy was so cold on the surface his teeth were chattering. I suggested he call the dive, because he'd be unable to concentrate on the skills tests.

Ultimate Getaway Liveaboard vs....

well these were medium depth dives. You basically start out with a dive before breakfast and end up with a night dive. I'd guess dives were in the 50 to 75 foot range most of the time on reefs in the Tortugas. surface intervals were about an hour each. All the nitrox on the Ultimate Getaway comes out around 31% if memory serves me correctly. pretty much most of us were diving multiple computers and they were staying close to maxed out a...

I'm looking at a trip in a similar timeframe. We are looking at going on the NCL Pride of America, so we are looking to dive on Kaui & the big island as well. I have been using the Hawaii subforum as a useful starting point. It has lots of recommendations for dive ops, with a variety of choices depending on what you are looking for. Hawaii seems to have a wide variety of diving so that may ...

Make sure your bags is not over the weight limit. Most airlines limit is 50 lbs but check yours. Don't want to get hit with extra fees. I pack my reg and computer in my carry on. Takes some weight out of my bag and they are safe with me. Make sure your dive light will not accidentally turn on if the bags thrown around. I sometimes bring an extra reg. and spare light. Depends on the ...

Been to Bonaire twice and never to Roatan. Roatan is our next dive destination. It was suppose to be our trip this year, but due to the political issues we decided to leave it be for a year. I can say we love Boniare, but want to try something different. We went back to Bonaire because it is easy cheap diving. Very flexible, no boat schedule. The best thing about Bonaire is jumping in ...
