Seychelles because we are interested in going in January. The websites make it all seem great but some of the posts are not very encouraging!!

Very bad experience with Scuba Addicts Diving Adventures during the 2009 Sardin Run in Port St Johns.
Due to bad weather conditions, we could not launch to sea during our first 5 days out of 6. In Port St Johns, there is
no alternative to bad weather and waves are blocking the entrance of the river out to the sea as soon as the strong winds come from South West... which are dominant in June-...

Hi there oceanfreedom. I have been diving on the Protea Banks for the past 5 years. I did a total of 26 dives there with an average of approximately 5 dives a year on our annual holidays at the coast.
During those dives we saw many sharks like Bulls, Tigers,
Hammerheads, Black Tips, etc. From a personal point of view, I will recommend Protea Banks.

I can't give any advice on GW operators but I dive Sodwana fairly often and have dived Aliwal Shoal as well.
Protea Banks are rather deep and you have to be at least AOW certified to dive there. I'd rather suggest Aliwal Shoal. My preference is Sodwana for the greater variety and nicer reefs but if its sharks your after, Aliwal Shoal would be a better call.
