Stanmo : Quote: How does Ian Litchfield manage just over 400 with the mk2 T-25 without a front mount ? Is it the cool air kit, the zircotec coating to reduce heat, etc ? Yes Ian is doing that but not on a 96 STi import. There is a difference. Clutch would be the Exedy Racing 40% uprated for five speed. I am sceptical about the turbo. The words sound ok on the advert so I hope it works out in reality. That is very cheap. I sell a TD05-06 20G...

The gearbox casings may be the same/similar but the internals are hardened on the STI and newage wrx's, they are not on the classic wrx's

I have heard of quite a few issues of poor idling with the Simtek - suggest you talk to your mapper as I think this may be a known problem...hopefully with a known fix

it really should be mapped for the mods.. you will gain little by adding the mods without mapping..
fit the intercooler but not all the pipes and then connect it all up and fit the induction and injectors just prior to mapping.

Yes, you get rid of the restrictor and T-piece.
Take one length of pipe from the compressor bleed outlet on the turbo to the metal inlet on the back of the solenoid - underneath the electrical connector.
Second run goes from the vertical outlet on the solenoid to the wastegate actuator.
The "front" outlet on the solenoid plumbs into the return on the turbo inlet pipe.
Presumably you ...

to change to facelift you need to change headlights/ grille and bonnet,(I think you may be able to get away with not changingbonnet but if I remember it leaves a large gap between bonnet/headlights BUT I'm not sure) and a version 5/6 bumper if you want to go full facelift.
I have a grille in sonic blue if your interested

It does have one, but the trigger pressure is so low that it is more like an "engine dead" indicator.
If having a gauge isn't of any real use to you then perhaps replace the standard pressure sensor with one that works at a higher pressure - 20 psi for instance.

Not much beyond very rough guesses given the amount of info you've given us. Could be a number of things from a broken wire to a broken doorswitch to a broken CL timer to a broken alarm controller relay.
Has it suddenly stopped after working fine?
Are you talking about it being broken when you lock the driver's door with the key, or when you press the button on an alarm fob (or both)?

K&N filters don't shed their oil so that alone isn't reason to reject one. However, the bottom line seems that, knowing what we do from the other thread, you are going the wrong way here.
The FMIC you've bought doesn't have a brilliant rep, and, worse, it seems you only ordered it because of what you were told by ScoobyClinic after your 301bhp remap. Taking off an excellent TMIC to fit a ...

a cold air intake pipe should come with the GDB kit. All you then need is a filter on the end of the pipe for inside the front wing. Who supplied you with the kit. The cold air intake piping should be included but the filter will be about £50 extra. Try speaking to Harvey Smith. Have look at his group buy and look at the bugeye photo in the thread this will show you where the pipe goes. you are ...

If you want to fit a turbo clutch, you'll need to fit a turbo gearbox too.
The N/A engine uses a push clutch and the turbos use a pull type

id think the best place to start would be check the coil packs on each spark plug, remove them pull the rubber back at the end then check for cracks its quite a common problem,
also while youve got them off check your spark plugs condition and gap all the best steve
