So in other words, the title of the story (and this thread) is FALSE. The child was NOT left on the bus, simply fell asleep and found by an alert driver doing what we're all supposed to do. I've had this happen quite a few times, but never made
the evening news. I guess it's a slow week in SC...

We got ours done last week. Now that being said, I use to be in the Limousine business and the way it was done there is you take your Limo to a state licensed facility and mechanic for inspection. You make all the recomended repairs and submit the form to MDOT. That is all you need. This could easily be done in the school bus industry. We have
Michigan state ...

Irresponsible at best for them to title them "
school buses not designed for rollover crashes". There are FMVSS in place to assure the bus' roof not collapse during a roll, that the windows stay in place to reduce chances of ejection, that interior joints do not seperate and introduce hazards to occupants, and that adequate, operative exits are provided post-crash....

day to day attention to the inattention of other drivers and students!

Tansportation & IEP? The only reason Transportation was even thought of in the district I worked for was because I was a
School Bus Driver and Paraprofessional, and I was able to influence teachers to include it, and even then it wasn't always.

I can't say anything about Bahrain but
here in america School bus drivers stop in the middle of the road and don't let people pass the bus beccause it's dangerous and I get a very bad attitude with anyone who tries to pass my bus while I am getting kids on the bus. I try to get the person licence plate as they pass me but alot of times its hard. As for speeding thats...

One bus following to close behind the other. Important to keep
a safe distance, especially when the roads are wet. I was glad to hear no one was seriously injured.

I tell ya, all these elaborate mirror systems are WORTHLESS without good training for the drivers and passengers alike. Training is WORTHLESS if it isn't applied though. We should not be seeing these stories in 2009...we know better.
