Ahhh, you're trying to come up with something to simulate braided hoses/lines? As Mike said, Pro Tech has the best, and if you look to the right (at least on MY screen) there is an advertisement which contains a link. So much for the electonics wizardry.

Perrys has some great looking stuff. He has a 48 Ford coupe I would love to have & the price is very good, considering it's resin. I emailed him bout a month ago, no hear. As advised in this thread, I looked for his product @ another supplier. That supplier told me that he had sort of an agreement with Perry to carry his stuff in the U.S. Perry never came thru. U.S. supplier sez he's tried to contact him by phone &...

Rapley; Hogman is right about the year of the trailer. I used to have one until someone offered me more for the kit than I could refuse for it. The idea of building it as a short haul around town delivery trailer for a car lot or dealer would be OK. A single axle tractor would be fine but any tractor without a sleeper would be fine. That would fit in with a car dealer or used car guy using the cheapest transportation posible...

rabidscoobie-Hi, I am going to keep this very simple. How many modelers use TESTORS or other brand liquid glue? What do you do with the empties?? I have for years ,taken three small bottles of TESTORS paint and put it in these bottles AFTER they,re cleaned out! They have the brush thats true. You cut the brush holder out and viola! paint bottles that seal tightly time after time(don,t forget to clean the top BEFORE you put the top back on! )Ive...

Published (2009-11-22 22:50:00)
The original kit of the Maverick by Jo-Han was a 2 in 1, Stock or Funny Car. Once the tooling was changed to a ProStock, the stock parts were removed. I don't know if Jo-Han continued to make promos after the tooling was changed or not. I've never seen a Comet promo. I know that there was a drag Comet, with what looked like a stock body (promo). The hood didn't...

im pretty happy with the price of models and model parts now, when i was younger any 1.24 scale car was £20+ over here(which is probably why i ended up doing aeroplanes as they were cheaper) and there was much less variation of models, there was almost nothing of japanese cars it was all classic american muscle or boring british cars. ive just picked up six brand new kits and 2 sets of wheels and garage/mechanic sets for £70 or...

Right now I have 8 WIP's going on. Much like a lot of other people, I always do the bodywork, base coat, decals, and clear coats first. I often times will let them cure for 1-2 months before polishing out. With this many kits going on at one time, I always have something that can be worked on while another body is curing. If you see the "on-the-bench" below, I try to build a variety of kits at any time, so that I...

I've seen Maverick promos with the full wheel covers, but like you,I've never seen a stock Comet. Could it be a kitbash perhaps? Maybe someone took the Maverick interior and chassis and put the Comet body on it? Can you post a pic of it? I would like to see it.

A soldering iron can be used. You can also cut a hole, cover the hole with the aluminum from a beverage can, then wrinkle the aluminum to your heart's content.

I believe you are referring to "shielded" lines; the shield is actually braided aound the insulator for the center conductor and is generally used to prevent interference (static).
It's been quite a while and I might be having a "senior moment" but I think the wire running from the cartridge through the tone arm of a turntable might have shielded, multi-conductor wire. That's some pretty ...

BigTallDad: I'm not advocating you run out and purchase blank media; just don't throw those clear ones away. I've been keeping those clear discs but hadn't yet figured out what, if anything, to do with them. I just had a feeling that they might someday come in useful. Thanks for the tip, BTD.

My best reply is.. all of them. Never put a clock to any of them and normally I'm doing a bunch of other stuff while I build. If I'm waiting for glue or paint to dry I can open another kit and get ready to prepare the body work, or the many mock ups on other kits etc... Interesting though, now I gotta check how much time I spend on each without letting the wifey know.

Is it a mandate that you use the Paasche jars? Consider using baby food jars.

...I had one of these about 20 years ago and it was so warped I gave up trying to assemble it, it was horrible....but to your question, for some reason and I don't remember exactly why, I was going to load mine with 67 Corvettes...it looked period correct for mid 60's to me at that time

Next come the parking lights. The top photo has only the parking lights and the bottom photo also has the brakes applied, accounting for the brighter rear lights.
