Not sure what you mean by a solid look to the seat. If you want it to look like one board how about getting some
rift sawn solid stock and just glue up the seat from that using 3/4 or thicker stock. Since rift sawn has nice straight grain lines it would be fairly easy to have the joints disappear. even with flat sawn with only a 15" wide panel for the seat you would only have one joint which with...

I have a job coming up that could use a Betterly tilt base for a large router, preferably a 3 1/4 hp
Porter Cable as I already have these. Any other tilt options that would work with a 1" straight bit would be entertained.
