Yes I think it would the stalling would stop the path the router was on and then pick up again a few lines later if that makes sense Mach will think it is still moving correctly but in reallity the router is now in a different position because of the stalling. Rockbridge is about 50min Southeast of Columbus heading toward Athens if you know where that is! My mom grew up in Painsville and my dad grew up in Mentor I have a bunch of Aunts and...

Randy, Find someone with a laser and you'll be much happier with the results. Unless your board is absolutely flat, and the router is trammed perfectly, and the bed is absolutely parallel to the path of the router, you won't get great results with lettering, especially if the letters are small. None of that matters with a laser, not as much anyway. I don't know where you are in Washington compared to Eugene Oregon, but I could...

Sounds like something having to do with incorrect unit values (in shop bot terminology) in the software from what you describe. Had a similar problem with my bot because because I skipped a page in the manual and didn't load the settings for my machine.

Khalid, Fantastic work. You may want to invest in the high resolution software so you can output these files. Because of our Polhemus and our LDI scanners, I do not have the need for the Davids Laser Scanner, however, I think that when I finish my CNC Project, I might have to tackle building the David Scanner. The software alone seems like it is well worth the price of admission!...

I would start by drawing out some dovetail joints, measuring the dovetails as well as the diameter the guide bushing for the router. Then its just math from there, but it may take a little bit of trial and error. I would recommend doing a few forum searches here since there should be a ton of information on dovetail angles, spacing etc... If your going to the trouble to make your own I ...

You might want to look at 60° or even 45° bits for doing very small letters. You might want to finish the wood before engraving. This will both help the color from bleeding, and help prevent tearout as well.
