I realize unsprung weight has a fairly significant impact on many factors in a car but honestly I think you could cut the weight of your wheels and brakes in half and still not be able to tell much if any difference in performance, fuel economy or acceleration. Unsprung weight reduction is one of those final details people building up high performance vehicles should be considering... not somebody with an otherwise stock vehicle. You might as...

I need to stick my head under there and see, but it should be pretty straightforward.

It is a stupid design. I have changed my bulbs in the front a few times here and you basically have to take the entire headlight assembly out. To do that you have to remove a whole bunch of splash guards, and loosen the bumper so it can come down then you can get at the bolts that hold the light in and take it all out. Kind of a pain.

If anyone has access to the rims please weigh them. There are few ways to reduce weight on such a heavy car. I'm not just looking for acceleration, I'm looking for preservation of tranny life, cornering, fuel economy etc. So outside of reducing exhaust weight, rotor weight through use of floating brembo rotors, rim weight might help. My guess is that the stock rims are pretty lightweight but i don't know for sure.

Mine are Toyo Garit KX. Good, quiet, expensive (all they had for my car 2 winters ago).
BTW, what do you folks think of the regular traction control (not Stabilitrak, I have a 07 XE) and how do you use it. I find myself taking it off at low speeds when the snow reaches a few inches, otherwise I just spin around a lot.

I don't I think its a good car. But, I also feel it was a better company/car when General motors was not the sole owner. I think GM went in the wrong direction with the Saturn brand. I dont like how GM shares everything with all their models. Camero/Trans am Cavalier/Sunbird/ then Cobalt/Sunfire/Ion. I know ford/dodge does it also and other brands but GM has been the worst at it and I think ...

Theres adaptor cables so you can use the factory XM antenna if your car has it. Otherwise find a grommet where a wire harness goes through the firewall and run it through there.

The easiest guess is a loose gas cap otherwise its still guessing. Can you stop by Autozone for a free reading? Write down any code(s) displayed for posting here. And if they allow it, reset the memory to see if the code(s) come back.
