This isn't a whole lot of help but my 722 is also connected to my Onkyo AV receiver via HDMI, then HDMI from there to TV. Never had your problem. Good luck! Ed

Need HELP using DVD recorder...
Published (2009-11-28 19:26:00)
I want to apologize for 2 threads. My husband had requested help and I didn't see it when I also was asking for help. I set it up using the directions from Bobby. The only problem is the audio from DVR to the DVD recorder doesn't leave me an output for the audio from the DVR to the TV. I have to run the audio through the DVD recorder so I have to have the recorder on to get audio. I appreciate your help.

Do you have both tuners connected to the satellite dish? Either 2 coaxial cables from the dish or 1 coaxial cable into a separator on the back of the 522.

How long did you leave it there? There is a delay in locking onto spotbeams in that screen. It has taken my 722K up to 15 seconds to get a signal. It should eventually come up and it doesn't affect your viewing.

It should work just like with your SD Dish box. You will want to take care with the format of the video when you record it to DVD depending upon if you want black bands at the top and bottom or if you want the entire screen filled for when you play it back on your TV. For HD channels, I recommend recording at Normal format, then on playback, use your TV's "Wide/Zoom" to fill the screen. For SD...

If you are going to replace the drive yourself, it's a tradeoff between speed/space and heat. Any Sata II drive will work but the faster (of course) the better. But the faster you go, the hotter it will become and the VIP series seriously has some issues in heat dissipation. So if you go with a 7200 RPM drive at a higher density it will be much faster and have much less latency but it ...

I was thinking the same thing, but for the price of a new receiver it is not worth buying. Just sign up as a new subscriber from DTV and they will give you a good offer. Free installation I would imagine and whatever else you need to get up and running. The First DVR is included in your sub. If you have a second TV you can run it with the duo receiver. If you are set on buying look at $200-$400 ...
