Handy transponder list

couple notes..... I am usually leery of using low symbol rate TP's for aiming unless its necessary (no other TP's on there)...some receivers take a while to log the signals. In the case of G17 I would use the CW affiliates (3720 H 26000) as it is strong G19 KCSG is no more...they left AMC8 has different TP's...some data...I'll have to dig them up otherwise looks good. I'll implement that soon in the "strong...

You are talking about big time work, like planting the pole, putting together the new dish, mounting the dish, running the cables from the receiver to the dish, aligning the declination and elevation on the mount and dish, aiming the dish, programming the receiver... Call Skyvision for the price of a new dish plus shipping. Have you done this before? Or will you be hiring someone to install the dish? Now days BUD installers are very few. What...

If indeed this is a rare 9½' Birdview, it might be the first one we've documented for sure. Of course, if nobody gets it, then we'll never know. If it encourages one of our guys, I am back to working on a magnet wheel mod for the BV's. Currently in alpha test, soon to go to beta test. I have just gotten in a shipment of special material, several hundred magnets, and a number of reed switches.

Panchousa; Welcome! Do a search on C band there are lots of good posts on making your own mount. The most important thing will be to set it on a perfectly plumb and level post.

NSS 806 at 40.5°W
Published (2009-11-29 00:59:00)
I was attempting to align the new 8 Foot Dish today, hoping to hit 58 West. Instead after doing a blind scan it was determined that I was on 40.5 West. This seems awfully far east for someone in Minnesota. Any one else able to get this bird in MN? Or the upper midwest for that matter?

Got the beast up and tracking, what a pretty sight. Wow, big jump in signal quality from my 6'. I like it, time for some S2. I can just squeeze out 72ºW before it is right up against the house. Good all the way up to and past a139º on the other side.

I was able to track from 55.5 to 139 with an 18" on a 10' BUD from 88 west.
I never tempted any thing past that until I got a 24" Heavy Duty Arm, for fear of flopping the Dish.
It usually depends on the Mechanics of the Dish vs. how long the Arm can travel. As the Arm extends, it will come in contact with the Dish at some point, a longer Arm will not fix that.

NSS 806's footprint spreads well into Canada, so it's no surprise you can see it. It's straightforward in Denver with an 11 degree elevation; your elevation should be around 17 degrees. The only touchy part is the circular polarization on C-band. Technically you are be a long ways from your eastern limit. You can might get down to 24.5W at about a 6 degree elevation. I've made it to 30W at a 3 ...

Those are some nice gyro controlled antennas you have. The digicipher 2 receivers that can be activated are 4dtv units. These units are activated by Satellite Receivers C band and 4DTV satellite programming , NPS - Your One Call Solution - CBAND Satellite Programming C-band . or C-band Satellite TV, 4DTV and Free To Air Satellite Entertainment .
A dsr-905 sidecar, dsr-920, or dsr-922.

I never got a reply from Skyvision to clarify the actuator question (I hate calling tech support - I'd rather do e-mail). So, I'm going to install the 18" actuator and see if it really will move this 12 footer over 120 degrees of the arc and if it'll hold up. Since this Saturday should have decent weather I'll get the reflector assembled and see if any friends are around to get it on the mount.

If you use Titan Tv, set-up a favorites list and go to add channels. Type in ASN and it will bring up the ASN Atlantic. I just went and checked my list for last night, and that show is listed. Titan TV works great. I've been able to find most of the channels I get, both on C band and on Ku. Hope this helps.

You can get a system such as a 4dtv receiver - dsr-905, 920, or a 922 (best).
a 6' dish with a c band lnbf. You can order ala carte programming from Nps or Satellite Receivers C band and 4DTV satellite programming . I don't know if you can get just tv land but you can get a small cluster of channels such as the "pick 10" pack that right now i think is 18.99 per month and you pick 10 of any ...

WELCOME to the real C-Band club Manny
I've got 3 of those 6 foot dishes (2 Fortec 1 Sadoun ) and they rock.
So now you shouldnt have any issues getting MetroTV now
Looks like 40.5W has a ton of circular polarity signals on it

That is a good list to go by. Thank you!
I wish there is a list of C Band satellites with the list of channels such as The Shepherd Chapel, Classic Arts Channel, Shop At Home, etc that I can use when using my 4DTV and ORB 5000 receiver to track the Clark Belt Arc. It can be a pain in the ass to track with a IRD.
It is EASIER to track the arc using a FTA receiver than the 4DTV and other IRDs....

Very amusing!
And it's conical, as well.
So, it wouldn't really work on a prime feed dish.
Well, the scalar wouldn't... the feedhorn might be attractive to anyone wanting to mount two C-band LNBs.

Here are a few comments I made when the dish was first documented by Linuxman .
This isn't the first Spoon we've heard of and discussed. LoneWolf85 gave us some pictures of the one he found, about a year ago.
There's an old guy living out in the California desert, who claims to have two 8½' BVs and a pallet load of Spoons! -
