From other posts it seems like the facelift model has the fixes, not sure if this is the dash facelift, silver strip all round, or the new front but the new dash came in for MY07 and the new front for MY08. Model years start around October each year. A 2.0t petrol is a safer bet, and the car will be cheaper to buy which offsets a lot of fuel.

Hi all, I am in the market for a 2005 ish vector sport tid 150. What would you recommend as the important things to check over before purchase? I am having to travel a fair distance to purchase as there are no suitable cars near me. Thanks in advance

Hoping that someone will be able to point me in the right direction. I have gone through the search engine and found lot's of good stuff but not specifically my problem. I have a 54 plate 93 which I have owned from new and which came with the factory fitted Aux in. I had no cause for using it, as I was way behind the times and have only just purchased an Ipod. I did check that the Aux was selectable and that the jack was present when I...

I'd go for the latest model your budget will stretch to. A higher mileage later model with FSSH might be better as you'd get more of the updated kit. Mine's an 06 and there are so many rattles and squeaks it drives me mad. Sadly they are much worse in warm weather, so you don't hear them at this time of year (look for one with the velvety door seals, not smooth rubber). On the downside, you'll be nearer clutch and DM...

Malkybhoy, I use an independent Garage next to Ibrox undergound. They are good and my last service on a 1.9 tid (120bhp) was £204 including a set of front brake pads. Don't let the location put you off!!! Regards David

Don't get the 2005 model get a 2006. As you can see most of the issues on this forum are for the 2005 vector TiD engine. Im not sure when they redesinged the bits that were giving trouble on the 05 TiD but there isn't many posts on here about the 06 TiD This post has been edited by MacGyver : 13 Nov 2009, 16:34

Is this a pre-2002 9-3 or a 2003-on 9-3 Sport Saloon?

I don't know if the factory fit AUX cable is the same as the aftermarket one. I assumed it was. If the wire definitely goes to a multiplug, then it's a different fit. The aftermarket wire has a small plug about 6 inches from the socket under the armrest. Have you checked whether this connector is wrapped into the loom and goes no further? Some pictures of the aftermarket install ...

Thanks for all the advice guys. I have abandoned the Nottingham trip for the moment as the weather is so bad today and I was rather dubious about the company selling the car. All the points about the diesel are well taken. The idea was to cut expenses with lower road tax and fuel costs. I am changing from a 1999 9-3 se full turbo (185bhp) so maybe a 2005-6 aero might be a better plan? ...

Had a softwareupdate on my 2006 06 plate 1.9tdi, was to get the voice control working fully, but I notice that the customize option to turn the scale from 0-90 or 0-160 MPH is no longer having any effect. The MPH&KPH or MPH only is working fine, and everything else too. Also at the same time with the update, the DTE no longer runs right down, at 15-20 miles left it changes to refill now....

How old is your car? Is it still under warranty? If not, get the dealer to make a " special request" to Saab GB on your behalf. These springs have been breaking on several cars. Should be a recall, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that you shouldn't fill the tank to the brim anyway
