The new LZ9 3900 features Variable Cam Timing , a new feature on a pushrod engine, roller rocker arms and has a variable length intake manifold . The dual intake runners (One short, one longer) improves intake efficiency across a broader RPM range. It produces 240 hp (179 kW) and 240 ft·lbf (332 Nm) torque, with a wide torque curve . 90% of the torque is available from 1500 rpm to 5500 rpm. That's gonna be allot of work getting that all...

The Model 220 TBI commonly found on the 2.8 has a constant bleed feature in the pressure regulator that relieves pressure by itself. Not sure how quickly it should drop however.

I switched my 86 to carb because the old owner thought ripping all the wiring for the O2 sensor was good for Horsepower, Needless to say my carb setup gets like 150 to a tank and never starts in the winter by it self, Also like to stall when it actually runs in the winter

i've never heard of anyone doing the swap as the 2.8/3.4 was used the the first-gen s-10's (82-93) and the 2.2 was used in the second gen trucks (94-04)

92' 2.8 TBI vaccum lines?
Does anyone know where i can get a diagram or pics of the VAC. lines that go to the TBI in my 92 2.8L. looks like there was a small engine fire that melted most of them.

You might want to try the correct forum. 2003 S-series never had a 2.8/3.4/60 degree V6.

Its hard to say. I usually say if it ran good till you worked on it then it starts running crappy it is something you did but since you just bought the truck there is no telling. Do you have all the plug wires on right. I had 3 wires off on my truck one and it still ran.

Possible you need a new needle and seat installed (found in a basic rebuilt kit).
And/or, the float is still to high (adjust/bend down slightly until the problem stops).
