get the ngk tr6 plugs. i ran a 100 shot untuned for 2 years with no issues at all, but it would be much better to have it tuned. 75 shot is plenty safe

Keep Paxton or go with Turbo
Published (2009-11-11 12:11:00)
what is the NOVI worth? Not much I would think, plus Ill have to get a new intercooler cause the paxton style wont work with a turbo, then tack on the tube K, new fuel system so on and so forth, with keeping the blower all I need to do is buy the bracket and do a fuel system. Other than building the motor which will be done for either set up so that doesn't matter. I dunno still thinking, I wanna get it done now, but if I do the turbo...

Which setup to choose?

Ok then I think I'm going turbo, I'll only be able to afford a single kit. You guys have been very helpful. Any suggestions on rear gears? for highway/street racing.

high impedence vs low impedence

To be fair, I did look around and the 80's are going for $425-$450 depending where you get them. I still like the flexibility of a driver and it's ability to accomodate growing injector sizes, especially with the HIGH fuel demands of the up and coming ethanol fuels -E85 & E98

New Edge and KB 2.1

I think I'll do that. I'd sooner buy the right parts the first time around. If the 96-99 covers are the same then is it safe to assume that my brackets and front accessories should work with the KB?

Are you still going to run a custom tune? I would think it wouldn't matter which tuner you use. As long as your tuner has the software for it.

The only difference between the two is that high impedance injectors will work with the factory ECU without any modifications besides a tune. The low impedance injectors need an extra control box called an "injector driver" in order to work with the factory ECU. The only reason why someone would go with low impedance injectors is because they come in larger sizes than are available in high ...

You can install larger studs. Procharger designed the bracket to utilize what mounting points that are already there. The bracket brace aslo wouldnt hurt. As far as belt slip, any 6-rib setup using smaller than a 3.6 pulley will eventually slip. You will need a 8-rib setup to use a smaller 3.4 pulley. If you are looking for more than 600hp, House of Boost has a renegade or seperate 8-rib drive ...

Check out the threads at Turbomustangs. On3performance posts a lot over there. I highly recommend looking through those threads before purchasing a kit from them. BTW, B&G Turbo is coming out with a similar priced kit, possibly even cheaper. Personally, B&G Turbo has a great reputation, so I would be more apt to buying from them.

I have a F1A setup and I like it. The sound of the bov alone is pretty sick and it sounds like a jet. The looks on people's faces when I drive by is pretty funny. Boost takes a little while to build up but once it does and you are going about 70mph...bye bye. But its a pretty expensive setup and I would go twin screw if I had the choice.

With the Kennebell for our cars you wont see the power that you want down the line because they are non intercooled, or at least i have neever seen anyone with over 450hp with the 2.1L kit for our cars. If I was you I would get a D1SC and run like 8lbs-10lbs, this will be nothing for your built motor. This way with the D1SC you can up the boost down the road. However you will def need to get a ...
