It all depends on what you want in the car, if your gonna be out on a road track trying to carve corners for a living then I'd say stay with the IRS. If you want to get rid of the annoying wheel hop Id go with a SRA. However, a SRA car is bad to drive, handles great to be exact.

Clutch/Tranny Help!!!
Published (2009-12-11 10:18:00)
You know, I said the same thing but I did not want to mention it to him. It was the weirdest thing when I drove away and all of the sudden I can not shift? I purchased a Stedda Adjustable Clutch Cable, Quick release quadrant and a Spec2+ Clutch and flywheel. I hope this fixes my problem. If that is bad advice should I return the Stedda parts? Thanks again guys for your help it is greatly appreciated.

Flywheel Questions
Published (2009-12-12 21:03:00)
Confused also on why they are adding $1k to the price if a flywheel is needed. Stockers are in the $350 range and take 5 mins. to replace. Other options are aftermarket or send the Stocker to Mcleod to change the friction ring out for $125.

you will to have SRA rear springs/shocks. You also need the ABS sensors. The pinion flange for your driveshaft I like my swap. Somedays I would prefer having the IRS but it all depends on what im doing. I do like that I can drop the clutch at 5500-6K rpm at the strip and not worry about it

Its a job, if you have any kind of mechanical ability, you can do it. You will probably get frustrated with a few of the bushings. It will easily take you several hours to do the job though.

I've been searching for months for a twin disc clutch that is worth the money. Everyone I hear talking about the twin disc they went with have only had negative experiences with it. I think I may just go with the Spec 3+ myself since there are tons of guys running it and with great luck. I have not seen anyone who has ran the Spec twin but I can't see myself throwing that much money ...

The flywheel's wear surface is part of the clutch system and therefore would be considered part of the clutch in this case. Just as the rotors are part of the braking system. Some places will resurface the stock flywheel once but I doubt Ford would do it. If you must pay for a new flywheel I suggest ordering a Fidanza unit from Lethal and have the Ford tech install it instead of the factory one. ...

You can do it if you're confident and have the right tools and a little patience. Special tools you will need. 1. Hydraulic transmission jack (T56 is very heavy) 2. A long handled 12mm 12pt box end wrench to break the driveshaft bolts loose. 3. Enough 3/8" extensions (enough to make about 2 1/2 feet) and a swivel to reach the upper trans and bellhousing bolts. 4. Tiny hands to ...
