I would bet money that is a no go unless you are a licensed attorney. Nothing wrong with calling the DA and trying to work something out however.

Being forced to submit VAF?
Published (2009-11-29 21:16:00)
I just thought it was odd that this simple little form that has nothing to do with my background would be grounds for termination. I'll just submit it and keep getting a paycheck.

I've thought this out before, and my guess is it would go something like this: Officer: "I saw you speeding yesterday, son. I got your license plate number. Here's your ticket." Me: "No officer I wasn't speeding. I wasn't even driving my car at all yesterday. I borrowed my car to a friend ." Officer: "Okay give me your friend's name and address." Me: Exactly... if...

Question about court
Published (2009-11-26 21:04:00)
guess its different in AZ then. in Texas, on "court day" it is like a machine, they get you in, talk to the prosecutor, get people on deferred (supervision) or definsive driving, get your money, then get you out. they dont like when you put a kink in the system, and want to goto trial. Call the clerk or the prosecutor, make sure you can talk to the prosecutor before the hearing.

Sometimes I see the signs while driving in SC. If you notice [at least I have] there are large white lines that run the width of the road. I'm sure the lines are a certain distance apart and they consider how fast you pass between the two lines to calculate your speed.

well normally i would say your VERY screwed.
but if your attorney is the brother in law of the prosecuting attorney, you might get some leniancy. Alot of states have mandatory DWI punishments now, so watch out for that.

Holy shit.
Well wishes to the family, friends, and fellow officers of those downed officers. May they rest in peace.
And may that scum-sucking piece of shit that gunned them down cowardly, be torn limb from limb, and may he survive, to face a proper trial and a well-deserved prison raping and the gas chamber.

court supervision is usually where you are on a sort of "probation" for a set period of time. in your case it will likely be unsupervised and if you go that set period of time without further tickets the ticket will go away and not hit your driving record. Screw up, however, and they both will show up.

I cant think of an instance where DNA can be forcibly obtained without a warrant. Not saying that it's impossible but......
I'm not familiar with the incident you are describing, but I cannot see people being arrested for failing to give DNA at a DUI checkpoint.

As far as misdemeanors go they must occur in the officers presence for him to either cite you or take you in. Presence would be described as hearing, seeing, smelling, etc. He can radio to other units of a car matching your description, not to give you a ticket for speeding, but just to watch your driving style and pull you over based on that. Now if we're talking felony type activity, the ...
