2009 48hrs of Tristate Official Info That's right folks, it's that time of the year again, when we all break out of the winter blues of no car shows, no auto-x, no road racing, no drag strips and head out on the open highway for a good cause. This is the 8th Annual running where a group of Subaru enthusiasts from all over the TriState area take a 3 day long trip covering about 48hrs of ...

Drove the forester(08/09) the other day It didn't feel as good in the handling department as my 05 OB though. Does anyone know why? The steering response felt like my Honda Accord, the weight distribution did not feel right to me. It was a new Forester from he dealer and had around 4k miles or so. Does it have the rear LS like the OB does?

UPDATE, I went a day early for my appt. Got the car back, told me they could not feel the door handle problem, it don't happen every single time. Then the dead pedal noise, they pulled up the carpet and put something in there, but on the way home it was doing it again. I tried to call back and they were already gone, so I am just going back first thing in the morning for a re-try, ...

Head Gaskets on later models I am just starting to think about another Outbabk. I am looking at 2003 and newer ones. After doing my homework and talking to Subaru techs at dealers and indepanded shops I hear from both that they have not done HG work on 2003 and newer. Has anyone out there had HG problems with these years? Has Subaru fixed this problem for good or, will this still ...

Can't believe I'm actually considering this... ...buying a car from Carmax. After the miserable luck I've been having at dealerships, mostly due to the fact I'm a "not going to finance, I have X dollars that I can write you a check for gimmie the keys" type of buyer. But have had several strike outs due to a good car being about $1.5k out of my price range. *sigh* So there's a ...

Tires/Tire pressure and Snow. (attn: Hooray) So anyways. Boxxerace quote: I am interested, although lack snow tires. I suppose I can air down and have you plow trail for me.... Repair shop recommended In a follow up to an earlier thread, I have to give a big thumbs up to Steve and Don at "Suby Specialties", located in Monrovia, CA. I had my 96 Outback in there today for a new water pump install. Not only did they finish it earlier than they estimated, they changed the oil, replaced 2 drive belts, and installed some new plugs that I brought in all for ...

My girlfriend has an '00 Outback Limited sedan with 116k miles and the 4EAT that is carrying its second transmission - the first one failed on the previous owner at 89k. I suspect abuse or a manufacturing defect, as you don't hear about 4EAT's failing under 100k that much. With the mileage, 8 grand sounds like a fair price, although keep in mind my perspective is from Seattle - an ...

Does it really work? - 14 new posts

Does it really work? In 2009 Outback with Harmon Kardon (limited model and up) there is suppose to be feature that will increase the volume as the vehicle speed increases. I have seen it work in 2009 Legacy (same HK system), but does not work in an outback although the subaru brochure and site says it should ( http://www.subaru.com/sub/misc/harmankardon/index. html ). If you ...

Maximum safe weight? - 12 new posts

Maximum safe weight? So, I ran to the scrappers last weekend, crossed the scales at 4740lb . . . Was that a bad idea? If you factor in the weight of the people who got out of the car before it was weighed, it was over 5000lb ont he wheels for the trip.
