Good news, Alan. I still kick myself for not thinking of changing the water pump when we had the chance.

I know that I am rare! Less than 3% of accidents are caused by malfunction of the bike.... I have had at least one and maybe two of those. The first was the hub breaking off my rear wheel on a chain drive bike that locked the wheel up. The second i still don't know what caused it, but I know that a bald rear tire was at least a contributing factor. What can I do about it... more careful pre-ride checks of my horse.

Very nice Slider! sheepish grin time... I got home tonight and realized I had a spare in my jacket pocket for the bike. Still lost all the rest of the keys though... Now I have to figure out if I need to get a spare for the helmet guardian or if I just risk being without it... I have a spare cylinder and 2 keys for the givi... probably time to replace the existing one (only one key now) so I don't have any *issues* down the road...

My observation is: Don't drink and drive! 50% of accidents involved alcohol, this is certainly something we can control. I personally have a one-beer rule, if I want more, I go by car (with a friend), or walk (or crawl if necessary).

Cold is all about the individual. Last December I left for Petit Jean State park for a MSTA RTE in 22 deg weather and don't own heated gear. Layered up pretty good but within the first 100 miles I my feet were numb from the cold. Living in south Arkansas I generally won't ride in less than 45 degree weather. I would venture to say that Mr McIlquham is not a Motor Officer? I hear this from my cruiser buddies often, "He had to lay her down", Right. I'll take my chances trying to stay upright and looking for an escape route.

I have found the polarized sunglasses don't work for me while on the bike. Looking through the visor and another layer of plastic with a UV coating really screws with my sight. I have found that a good pair of gray tinted sunglasses without polarization works best.
