Well stage 2 raises the boost and needs larger injectors... who knows how lean he may have been running that car (dummy)...
I would say it would be best to steer clear of that one and find one
drivin' by someone who did things correctly if they did anything at all!

it lets the car read a higher boost level by sending a different voltage
curve to the pcm vs the stock 2.25 bar sensors. Your pcm needs to be
calibrated to the right sensors and voltage mapping or your fuel, boost,
and timing will be way off and you can damage the motor.
