having a closer look at them now mine had a reducer on the turbo end and was a very large bore up until that point. Chris's seems to be the same bore all the way through. As you've seen on my readers ride brad i had to chop alot of the pipe away in order to make it all fit, what a bloody nightmare!

The N75 valve is a vacuum control for the turbo actuator. Nothing to do with the EGR I'm afraid (although there's a similar valve which does control the EGR).

So you're still running on a stock clutch. If so for starters your map will be running restricted due to it. If it were me then it would be full clutch plus either a remap with your stock turbo or hybrid if you can afford it. I assume that you've got the brakes sorted by now, if not do it even before thinking about going hybrid.

4 engine faults in 3 weeks
Published (2009-11-26 23:05:00)
ok car's back, working ok for now, its been tested for 185 miles now and working ok. they have changed the egr valve, air filter and n75. the last fault code that came up was P0402 egr limit exceeded. The way that they tested it was by using the EGR components from another car, tested it, then replaced the old parts until the fault came back again, the part which triggered the the EML was the N75. I've got the invoice Needless to say...

what make of turbo ?
Published (2009-11-26 17:52:00)
Hi all I was just wondering if anybody knows the make of turbo that is fitted standard in my Seat Cordoba Tdi 130 55 plate . ( is it a garrett ) The reason i'm asking is because i have just had a brand new unit fitted to my car and the mechanic said that it's exactly the same as the original part. I phoned up my local seat dealer and i was quoted £1250 pounds just for the part. The independant VW dealer who does all the work /...

I have just PM'd you Chris with how I fit mine and where you need to box clever a bit. I used a rubber door stop from focus DIY (available in all other quality DIY shops too lol) and a 2" bolt and nut to fix the top boost pipe to the engine cover mount (its about 2.5" difference compared to the Golf, the car that the kit is designed for). I also modified the bracket that comes with the kit...

Get your service done and see what is high-lighted. I'd be asking for a new air and fuel filter as well as a fuel treatment flush on the service then see how things go from there.

Turbo stall or compressor stall/surge is when the compressor wheel of the turbo is operating outside it's compressor map (compressor map is defined by a number of "effieciency islands") outside of this is unstable flow inside the mechanical workings of the turbo. This is either caused by the compressor wheel being incorrect for your application (too large) or in most cases that you'll hear on ...

I just use normal diesel and put a dose of millers in. I used Shell Vmax in my old petrol car and thought I got better MPG, but this was offset by the higher cost.

Running Spec stage 3+ with their 9lb alum flywheel. Got it when it was $2:£1, so it only cost me £600 - proper bargain. I have yet to get close to the 600 lb/ft rating. Sure, the flywheel rattles in neutral with the clutch out, and the clutch can stick a little in traffic, but then it's a performance clutch not designed for stop/start but for use on the track (where it is DAMN awesome!)
