That's a lot of money for discs, oh well. Mine have aprox .75mm of wear each side, no idea how long they've been on there but I suspect it's been a lot longer than 20K. I guess it depends a lot on how aggressive your pads are. I'm getting my set up reworked to 320mm soon to allow me to run 16"'s again.

Had the car back in the garage this weekend and think I have sorted the problem for now! Had a good look at the discs and pads on both sides to start with. Pretty much immediately noticed that the discs had been getting hotter on the inside edge as they were slightly discoloured. So had a closer look at the inside edge and noticed that there was discloured ring around the middle of the disc. So guessed that something must be rubbing when hot...

Is there anyone on here running a similar setup who isn't suffering this problem? Maybe someone could setup some kind of table for us to fill in with our brake specifications. That way we could see if there is a common factor. A quick list of what could be included Master cylinder, hose and hardline setup, model of caliper, disc dimensions. Just another thought, does the RS2 run the same master cylinder as the ABY's and 3B's?...

Hmmm, are you sure the caliper and bracket etc will fit under 16"

Trident got back to me today with prices for the discs. £249.84 Each plus vat. 3-4 weeks delivery time as they have to be manufactured. Meh. Just curious Kieran, do you know how long your discs have lasted? Seems my last set have only done ~20k miles. Not good.

I'm not saying this article has the answer, but it's an interesting read and there may be more relevant information elsewhere on the site http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...akedisk.shtml# Tom

i had a nasty squeal shortly after getting brand new big reds, turned out to be the wheel bearings. When driving on the motorway the play in the bearing allowed the disk to rub against the pads. It sounded exactly like the real brake squeal that came from my corroded little reds. Shortly after replacing the wheel bearings the squeal came back, which turned out to be due to the wheel bearing ...

Sounds like the bomb is emptying if you're feeling a vibration through the pedal. It will do this after the bomb test, needs to re-pressureise. Mine also did this due to the servo playing up, not done it for a while.
