It's an XC bike first and foremost so jumping on it won't do it any good, keep an eye on the wheels as chances are they'll start to buckle very quickly with regular abuse. Less gears, more beers.

Problem is, I can't ride the rigid. I can't hop with it. I've been trying, So I though I would get used to the bike first then see how it goes. Rigid just seems hard to control. To me at least. But i will go back to the rigid in a couple of months to see the difference. I think i've been too pampered by FS.

I'm doing my best to stop them, and it looks pretty good so far. I am the http://savemilfordtrails2009.org.uk/ site owner BTW.

save cambu quarry

I've heard about the cambu quarry re-opening but i've not heard anything going on to protest against it. What you'se doing up mine woods? And where abouts up mine woods? More than happy to help when i'm off. We're still building up cambu - just miles away from where they are going to fence off for the quarry re-opening.

this is the problem you dont own the land and by the sounds of it you have not got permission to build them. you will need to sort out some liability insurance if you want to try and keep them as the landowner is responsible for people doing things on their land and they dont want dangerous activities. Have fun. "Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no...

You can jump on it, but nothing massive - most people say not to do drops or jumps bigger than 4ft on an xc bike, and that's assuming you're landing smoothly. However, since your learning, i doubt you'd be doing anything too big anyway. DO NOT jump with lockout on - it would be very bad for the forks, but if they have preload, use that to stiffen the forks, so that you get more air, because if ...

yeah, alot of 4x riders use them but a set of RS aryls or Marzzochi DJ would be stronger and better on the jumps 92% of teenagers have turned to rap. If your one of the 8% that still listens to real music put this in your sig. Current Bike: 04 Raleigh Alona New bike in 2010: Can't wait

The only dirt jumps I've been riding are 20+ miles from my house. (I live in portsmouth) then I stumbled accross news of a council backed set in Hayling Island but I can't find where they are. I dont know Hayling that well (never really needed to go there) so if anyone can give me a google maps link or details of which road thay re off that would be awesome. I figure someone here has ridden them....
