one more question i have, can't seem to wrap my brain around how this works as I have yet to see the cronus- how is it that the stock wheels that come on the bike only work with the cronus, won't work on any other bikes, but wheels from other bikes will work fine on the cronus?

LeMond Tete spine owners - need...
Published (2009-11-23 15:20:00)
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with the Tete spine bikes of 2006 and earlier. Here's my situation. I currently ride a 2007 Sarthe, with the OX Platinum tubing. It's a 53, and at 5'8" it's always been on the longish side. This was not much of a problem until I started riding competitively again and cared more about the right fit. In short, I know of a 51cm 2006 Tete with a CK headset and XXX...

LeMond Tete spine owners - need...
Published (2009-11-23 16:20:00)
My Tete has a Campagnolo Record mix - brakes are Mavic SSC (crazy powerful brakes) and the crank is a FSA Compact Pro carbon. I had the cranks a year before I built this bike in '06 (frame is also '06) and it works perfect and with Ti ISIS BB it is lighter than Record Carbon UT, so I haven't found a need to change it yet. My next Lemond project will likely get all aluminum Campy like Centaur or Athena. I built my wife's...

The 1.5 pounds seemed like an unbelievably low difference between the two models, so I took the liberty to do an Excel spreadsheet myself. I input the exact weights from the SRAM and Shimano websites for the group set items detailed in the build-spec sheets for the Cronus Ultimate and Pro. I also took the weights of the Bontrager X Lite rims and the Lites, the handlebars, stems and seat posts (using the same size for each example). The tires...

The comfort that you get from the Carbon bars, stem, etc make for a GREAT ride. I am glad to say that I haven't experienced any creaks from the bike for the last 200+ miles.................I'm looking forward to my NEW 2010 Gary Fisher Superfly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It should be here in mid-Feb!!!!!!!!!!!! Now get out and ride! Tom

According to the 900g claim in that article, that's lighter than a 5 series Madone and pretty similar to a 6 series. I hope they get updated paint for 2010... Not a fan of the 09 Fisher paint jobs.

I ordered a 5.5 on the 15th, just got a call this morning that the bike was ready to be picked up. I ordered the standard black/red/white paint scheme. When building online it said 30 days but the LBS said it should take much less, they were correct.

Well I'm actually keeping a used Sarthe in mind for another build and haven't ridden it, so I can't say the difference between the two frames. That being said, I adore my Tete. The Sarthe is not for a performance change and I suspect my Tete will be better, but rather for a more classic build project. Obviously you would be getting a sloping top tube and lighter weight. Keep in mind the ...
