Curious, who do you guys use for parts for your cross bike(s)? I use pricepoint, jensonusa and a couple others for my MTB's but I'm having to start replacing parts for the cross bike. started using treefortbikes too. just curious

I look at the stuff online and work with my local shop to order what I need, they can generally get all the products but just need to know exactly what I want. It helps them understand better what cyclocross riders are buying and I can talk to them about my experiences with products and they can use this to help customers. I plan to write a fall newsletter for our local shop on cyclocross.

Has anyone here sent tires to FMB to have converted to tubs? I have some original green Michelin Muds that I'd consider sending out.

What Pretender said. Occasionally you'll find a very twisty course with a bunch of singletrack where the MTBers shine and I never get my heart rate up, but that's only once a season or so. There are several guys who I've never finished in front of in a crit but who I beat by 60 places or more in a CX race. It's an endurance sport.

There is no update because nothing is going to happen. Nobody at a high level of racing cares. This topic will keep coming up because some slow people think they need more powerful brakes, but it won't change anything.

heck, if you've had luck with V-brake and you like them; then get them. I think I have a bunch laying around if you want to buy a set. let me know. but if you have the cantis and are going low cost than that may be the cheaper way to go. as for cranks, you could always get on fleabay and find something there.

I think you mean "open tubular" which is a fancy word for clincher. the champion clinchers are known for having trouble staying on the rim at lower tire pressures.
