The Sociopathic Epidemic
Published (2009-11-05 17:22:00)
I do think the country's going to hell and I do have this sense that there aren't enough parents and that lots of parents aren't parent-like enough. But I was kinda surprised by what I experienced last weekend. Friday night, I went to a high school football game. I hadn't done this since I was in high school. It was fun. It was in a kinda rural and affluent neighborhood like where I grew up. The high school kids not on the...

QUOTE (the minister's wife @ Nov 6 2009, 11:30 AM) In particular I felt this when having to take care of my infant daughter without the help of either grandmother whilst my husband worked. Yes, Lyria, it takes two parents at the very least. But in the case of small children the more the better. The mother needs the support of other mothers(preferably from the family so you can hear the stories like: oh, yeah I remember...

QUOTE (Howsithangin @ Nov 5 2009, 07:30 AM) Nails it. We are reaping the rewards of 25 years of focusing on self-esteem over intellect in our schools. And yet, The Left still won't acknowledge that there is even a problem. I hear coworkers and my housemate claim that crime and society is no different today than 50 years ago. We just have better media coverage, which makes it appear different. 50 years ago things...

I am probably a radical any more when it comes to education. I think that the cost of public education (and I'm not just talking taxes) for the supposed benefit of it has become greatly unbalanced. Now that the State has assumed the responsibility for educating our Nations children, many parents have assumed that this also means the school is responsible for raising them in general. Students may spend more time at home, but the bulk of...

QUOTE (Buckwheat Jones @ Nov 2 2009, 10:57 PM) You've got an understandable point here, but I think most people who have abortions, (or the ones who commit or facilitate the practice) don't consider it killing. We might, they don't and that's the problem. These people would not just as readily go out and kill another human being who was already born so they don't see themselves as killers. If they...

QUOTE (ilja @ Nov 3 2009, 10:10 AM) Exactly. As a matter of fact, the way I interpreted her 'aha' moment was that she did finally see the baby as a baby. Well I think that for a lot of pro-abortionists, it serves their interest to keep the process in the abstract. Most of the ones I've spoken to hate to be called "pro-abortion." They literally hate it. They want to be called...

QUOTE (Floridamom @ Nov 5 2009, 03:05 PM) We were in Lake Tahoe when this happened and it was covered quite extensively on the local news. Apparently, this particular school has had rampant security problems. They even had police at the dance. However, every single security personnel on duty there that were stationed inside. None were outside. According to local coverage many students, teachers, and parents have long sounded...

QUOTE (ilja @ Nov 2 2009, 05:34 PM) It looks like PPH has already started with the legal actions. This isn't new for this particular PPH here. The Coalition For Life (along with local churches and other organizations) holds a pray vigil there every year. I can't remember if it's 100 days or 10 days (I'm extremely sleep deprived), but any time you drive by there's at least one person, rain or shine,...

I was wondering if someone would post this. It's a pretty big story here today. She'll have the support of the Bryan/College Station community, but it'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the national media (if it does at all).

Fun article-thanks for posting! But my liberal shoe-shopaholic wife would disagree. BTW, thanks for the cool photo of Sarah! QUOTE (article @ Oct 27 2009, 02:48 PM) What's worse is that the families fleeing New York are being replaced by lower-income newcomers , who consequently pay less in taxes. I guess they'll just have to start taxing this group more (some?)...
