Vuze (formerly known as Azureus) is pretty good at behaving as a streaming media server. I use it with my PS3 ... it can't hurt to try (and its cross platform so it doesn't matter if you are on a PC or Mac).

Did they make you take your PC apart and take the mobo back or mail it back? If it were not under warranty, I'd suggest just dropping $9 on a Sound Blaster Audigy SE PCI sound card, which will probably sound a lot better anyway.

dual boot with vista and win7...
Published (2009-12-23 16:03:00)
Hi all, I just received my win7 upgrade dvd and was thinking of a clean install but then i thought a dualboot would be better because i still have a spare partition of 117GB. Is this possible without boot up struggle or hd partitions being altered by win7 ? thanks. subje twitter: subje / jungletrain

I'd go to intel's site and grab updated drivers first. If you look in the device manager do you see any yellow exclamation points?

There is some thing wrong with the drive, more likely to do with the integrity of the storage on the platters. You could try a diagnostics tool if one is available for your drive from WD. If not, it is probably under warranty unless it's more than three years old. http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?lang=e n

I have a Lenovo Ideapad netbook (meaning it has no disk drive, pretty much) that runs on Windows XP and the other day it froze up, so I went to restart it, and at first it would simply freeze when I tried to log on. Now it loads my settings, flashes my desktop onto the screen, and then tells me it's logging out and restarts. I can't get into windows to run a virus scan, so I have no idea what's ...

Yes, you can download Handbrake ( www.handbrake.fr ). They have versions for the Mac (intel & ppc), Windows (2000/XP/Vista), Linux and Linux 64-bit. You can also d/l the source code. I know the Mac version works. I don't know about the others.

If you have had more than one "HP" printer hooked to one machine can get the drivers confused. I would remove the drivers for both printers. (Do not remote the ports!!) Sometimes a special removal program is required for some of the newer printers. goto www.hp.com and check out support for your printers. then reinstall separately after the old drives are removed. There is one other gotcha but I...
