Mortal Kombat - A Proposal

No mocking from me... I have always preferred the MK fighting series, for some reason. The characters are so extreme and often cheesy, but they have identities that I find easy to distinguish between, as compared to many other games where the characters kinda blur together and look the same to me, or just don't have a hook. And I prefer the fighting mechanics more in MK games. However, I did enjoy Deadly Alliance, but haven't got...

I'm not sure how much I would be able to join in. It obviously depends on what games everyone has, but I see no harm in doing this. I think I would join in whenever I could manage it.

For you 4E-ers out there, my friend found this rad service: http://www.iplay4e.com . Using Google Apps, it lets you upload your Character Builder file to it, and then you can use your character sheet interactively - either full screen on the site or in a compact version on your iPhone! It allows sharing with your DM and others in your party, and it connects to the D&D Insider Compendium to look up information on powers, feats, skills,...

I would hope that a majority of people who would dare call themselves 'geeks' would know who Ray Harryhausen is. Geekdom didn't begin with the internet. There's a heritage of geekiness that goes back many decades.

Just finished Ninja assassin (cool movie, really liked it. Really over the top though and the blood is obviously CG but great CG, good acting, and a deep plot, are not why one goes to see it) Also watched Men who stare at goats, (didn't really like it but I feel this is the type of movie that you really can't rely on other peoples opinions I can see certain type of people liking this movie. Oh and the ending got the whole audience...

I remember someone on the network trying out the force trainer before it came out and it didn't work then either, but I can't remember who. Think I am going to pick up the book version of "The Walk" has anyone else read it?

PQ is on the PSP as well, and it's also on the Wii and PS2. I prefer my PSP version to the Wii version for the very reason you state.
Congrats on your victory!
It's a good thread idea, as I usually finish games when the wife is at work, so... Yeah, I'll try to remember this thread when I finish Ratchet... Gotta stop playing the Battlefield demo first, though.

I'm with you on the Droid and the disappointing nature of VZW's costs and restrictions. One thing I've heard touted is Page Plus - it's a pay as you go carrier that uses the Verizon network and therefore you can use Verizon phones such as the Droid. A greater initial cost, but I hear their plans can be pretty cheap. No personal experience or stake in their success just passing along 411

I'd say Dark Knight and Star Trek for sure. Pixar movies are also fantastic in HD. I've also got Blade Runner which looks really good, but it's tough to say it's a "must own."

Wes,

Meh?
I don't wanna rag on it. But I just haven't found much to love.

Great Episode. Alex's reaction to Dan's "coloring inside the line..." comment was hilarious.
And The Postal Serivce's "Give Up" is simply amazing, I still bump it in my IPod on a regular basis. Though I die a little inside when I hear people talk about how great and new Owl City is.

The original holds a place in me heart. I hope they do it justice. Casting
looks well done. Effects seem up to snuff. Director's got some more than
decent action cred. The writers were responsible for Æon Flux ... crap.

Ok kids, its been since college since i've had my PS2 which i sold about 4 years ago. Having watched TRS for about a year for movie reviews, I want to get back into gaming bad! I like aspects of both systems, but haven't had hands on of either for a while. important things to me are:
Game selection, i honestly don't know if 1 system gets better games than the other, or if they get the same ...

I keep a list of movies, how I watched them, when they came out, when I watched them, and what I rated them, so I can make up some statistics at the end of each year. Oh, and whether or not it was my first time seeing it.
The last movie I saw was Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou . Excellent.
