Awesome shots Dan! What are the odds of finding the same color 993 AND staying at the Overlook Hotel? You are the caretaker, you've always been the caretaker! Dare I be so bold as to say the 997 has nicer lines?

There is a great trade-off with the horribly ugly 996 headlights. They make for a remarkably cheap car for us. Seriously, we get a $50,000 car for $20,000 because the headlights are so terrible and we don't have to see them from behind the wheel. That's a great deal in my opinion.

Does it have to stay in the driveway?
Noting major to worry about, except to keep the battery on a tender, so if you can't park the Targa inside and use a tender, pull the battery inside and put it on a tender

Wow! Seriously? They are charging $170 for that kit? For that price I would expect them to throw in the bezel for the AC control unit (you have to move it down by the shift knob) as well as the cubby to replace the CD holder.

On your 911 of course!
Find a Pic of Redridge's car, I'm pretty sure his has the badge from the factory since it's a Millennium edition and a Mk 1.
Here is one:

Wow, that is low miles! Congrats. People are afraid of low mile cars, but I think the experience of driving in an almost new car, still feeling tight and new, is worth the risk!
The tool kit should be in the spare tire cover somewhere.
Now, where is that "this thread is useless without pics" icon!?

There are two routes that I would suggest. The first is purchasing a reman. engine through a Porsche dealership. Cost is around 13-15,000. Engine is 'new' from the throttle body to the exhaust ports. Comes with a 2 yr unlimited mileage warranty.
The second is Jake Raby's rebuild program which inludes upgraded internal engine components to mitigate some of the common issues including RMS, ...

Ok, I have to ask... why do you want to do this?
There is a reason the spoiler deploys.
Also, I am pretty sure that wire harness is for the Aero kit rear deck like on my car and will remove power from the spoiler so it will not work, you also will not get a warning light.

I bought my first 911 a couple of weeks ago, but am late posting it. I have been seriously researching 996’s, studying the market, drove alot of cars and read all the forums for over a year. Sold my 968 about 6 months ago. (Once you sell previous car and have $$ in hand, it is very hard not to pull the trigger on a car that ‘almost’ fits your criteria)
I felt that pricing had ...

From my experience (with several 944's and a Boxster), the Zimmerman's are a good way to go. Less expensive than OEM, and I believe the only difference is the anti-rust coating on the hats. And possibly the drilling on OEM's may be chamfered on some models.
For track duty, rotors are going to be replaced somewhat regularly (about 1 set per year to 2 with our cars). The ...
