Common to Leak Around Windshield?

Thanks for all of the input. Sounds like I need to check other areas for leaks as well. I do most of the work on my cars myself, but I'm having a professional do the installation. I will pass on what I have learned regarding making the seals water-tight. Cheers, JohnA

Common to Leak Around Windshield?
Published (2009-12-03 14:04:00)
On the subject of water pooling in the trunk, I recently traced the leak I have there to water going down the front drains and seeping in through tiny cracks where the front tub meets the trunk floor. The cracks look like they have been caused by previous grounding on kerbs (and possibly some undeclared accident damage by a PO ). It's going into a body shop next week to resolve the issue.

Nothing special for me. On Saturday, I will be hanging christmas lights in the trees and front porch. All the neighbors in my area put white lights in the trees. At night, its very pretty seeing the entire street light with lights. Not sure what else. We may get our first snow Sat night which will mean putting away the 964's for the winter. Not looking forward to driving the Honda but I am looking forward to getting some winter projects...

The mirror arm slots down onto a catch that is bonded to the screen. In theory, it should just slide up and off, but I imagine it would be stiff and may require extract force. Not sure I would want to take a hammer to it near the windscreen.

Esco jack stands (with flat top) are a good start. A good low profile jack would be also good. Then metric wrenches are a must.

Yes, my father owns a Mercedes AMG 430 CLK which is around 300bhp and I look after it most summers for him, which he spends abroad. It is certainly a match for my 964 in a straight line, and is a much more civilised town car in London. However, in EVERY other way the 964 beats it hands down. Feelgood factor, looks, handling, driveability, noise. Just cruising along with that huge rev counter in ...

One of the reasons why the donor car was traded in is seen here. There was excessive corrosion starting around the windscreen aperture, so the customer was facing a hefty bill for replacing the scuttle panel and repainting the roof. To us, finding a genuine accident free 964 was much more important than minor corrosion damage in a body panel that is destined to be replaced in any case, kind of ...

And here is what it looked like two weeks ago. The plan now is to replace the boot floor and front panel, replace the osr rear quarter (which has been previously replaced badly) and either repair or replace the nsr quarter due to poorly repaired knocks.

I found the answer on the 993 board... the part number for the bushing is 928-116-145-03-M100 and is listed as a 928 Clutch lever ball cup bushing. Around US$22 ea.

Well I finally got to do a test fit of my new front spoiler and give the car a quick bath this afternoon. The fit isn't bad but it is certainly not perfect just yet so it needs some further attention. When the correct one finally arrived it turned out to be a TechArt piece which I had been after for a long time but had only found narrow body versions so that was an added bonus.
