for the record today i swapped out my belts for peace of mind and they both looked as if they could have been new. my timing belt was a gates brand and had been on the car since the engine rebuild in april 2006, the balance belt i believe was a conti brand but it was replaced about 2007 because the original one was overtightened and failed. like i said they both looked like they were new and have been put in storage just in case. replaced...

has anyone done this before ?? Maybe we can produce a clean bell curve... also, anyone know a good Porsche transaxle guy anywhere between Charleston, SC and Mass area who is good with timing belts, and can spot any other kind of trouble... I am thinking with the hard driving that I did last spring out west, and now at 27 k and 2 years.

I replaced my fuel filter and the Clarks Garage write up says to clamp the hose at the inlet side (I used vice grips with lots of padding on the jaws). There was still plenty o' fuel dripping but not much.

LOS ANGELES, Nov 25 (Reuters) - "Dancing With The Stars" champion Donny Osmond on Wednesday ranked his win on the television show at the top of his career achievements, saying his entire body hurts after weeks of grueling rehearsals. Osmond, who turns 52 next month, became the oldest winner of TV's ballroom dancing contest, despite having tangoed, jitterbugged and cha cha cha'd on a broken toe...

Studs are cheap; grab it with visegrips or double-nut it and see if you can unscrew it. I'd bet there is a wad of corrosion on it that's hanging it up.

nicely kept 30 year old car but, they were a bit off, considering the stunning performers and updates that came not too long after... I think it would require a special owner... looks great from the outside with the 17" wheels, but the cabin and engine bay leave much to be desired -- rare turbo or not.

No vario-cam in the S2, that started in the 968. A replacement head will run you from $800-1200, and labor from a shop is going to be around that as well. As for what it's worth, if the rest of the engine and car are in mechanically good shape it could still be worth a reasonable amount to someone willing to do the work themselves. EDIT: I should add that if all the failed tensioner ...
