Help please.. I'm a little...

I'm not sure if it's the one fender or the entire car, but that's a repaint. And a bad one at that. Add that to your list of things to buy. If you can get the car for a CHEAP price, do the work your self, then you might be OK for a daily driver. To make it a concours car, it's a rough car to start with and that means too much money.

Single male.. sometimes I work too many hours in a week; but that can also be a good thing. oh here are more pictures of the engine..... can't wait to get it going... it is a 1976 car. it was brought over to the US by the first owner who moved from Germany. It was updated to a intercooled car hence the updated whale tail. Second ower had the car for a year when spun a rod bearing. had it in storage for the past 18 years and collected...

Advice on chain tensioner upgrade
Published (2009-11-01 22:51:00)
I am rebuilding my 1980 930 after 92,000+ miles on it. My chain spring loaded tensioners have not failed (yet). Since I only drive about 3000 to 5000 miles a year, do I really have to upgrade to the pressure fed tensioners? I will replace the current tensioners with new spring ones. Shouldn't the spring tensioners last at least 50,000 miles.

You need to get underneath and take a look at the headers....see where the corregated piping (made out of thin wire wrapped material) comes off the heat exchangers and may be torn...or the exchangers themsevles are cracked and are allowing fumes to enter the car from underneath. Does this only happen when you activate the heat levers or does it occur all the time?

I think the biggest question is: Can you do ALL the work yourself? And do you have the time and space?

The more I think about this, the more inclined I would be to go for it if the dude will sell for 7 grand. A total restoration is always fun and ultimately gratifying. As long as you have the space, the abilities, the patience, and the money to spend over the next several years then it can be a real labor of love. But if you've got other things to do like raise a family, keep the wife turned on, pay the mortgage, etc.....then think hard...

Wanted to give Vinnie of Gulf Performance in Pompano Florida some credit for his recent work on my Slant..... Wont go into all the detail - but what a difference ...... Next year we build a monster .... That is if the DOW is over 12,000

Maybe you guy's cars are different from mine but I always had a smell of oil when I first turned my heat on. I don't have the problem anymore because I don't have heat anymore.

Any pictures?
Aren't the 1976 models the first year of production? In good shape, it could bring a good amount. Getting it in good shape from your description could take a good amount. I'd say $10-12, but I'm guessing.
Just looked at another thread and 1975 was the first year. I know the early cars are desireable though.

I'd say you have a bad guage or sending unit.
The tank should be about 20 gals.

I'm using the stock mounts, as I've hear that the solid mounts will knock your fillings out. With a stiff suspension, I didn't even think about the WEVO's due to vibration. It would just be too much.
That's all I got for you...
What year and body style? 87 coupe
What Engine and how much power? 3.3 and 400 RWHP
What mounts are you running? Stock
How do you like them? +1

I respect a good project, but if you're looking for an economical entry into the 930 world with a salvaged clunker, you will most likely spend way more getting it up to basic driving standards than you would if you bought one running and in at least fair condition in need of some TLC. All, of course, depending on why the car was ...
