I live in the uk, im not too sure if that makes a difference. i have recently purchased a ferrari 550 maranello. as it had an alpine aftermarket stereo (me being a purist) i bought an original ferrari becker stereo on ebay and replaced it. unfortunately they didn't come with the code. so hopefully you could...

Mine didn't work on my first attempt. It is now on "WAIT". I'll monkey around with it a little more and see if I can get it to go. The good news is - the window regulator replacement was a success.

Thanks for the clarification. Question: when I replaced the CDR24 with a PCM 2.1, I had no issues with the PCM unit working with the car...no dealer involved, ... Just fired up and started working. Seems like if the CDR24 would have some issue, the PCM would too. Is there really an issue here with a code of some sort (whether done via PIWIS or not)? Thanks for the help! You went to all that trouble and didn't investigate the LN IMS bearing replacement part? LNengineering.com has lots of these bearings.

Your problem is only on two cylinders - so it is highly unlikely that it is a MAF prblem. Look for cracked coil packs or poor connections on those two cylinder. Since you changed spark plugs recently then check the plugs for tightness and damage.

Unfortunately it sounds like the ims might have gone bye bye. That is what the rattling may have been. Let's hope not as that would mean a new engine..:

QUOTE (suburban99 @ Nov 27, 2009 - 06:18 PM) When I first bought my 1997 Boxster, I trailered it home and took it for a ride to my kids school. One of the serpentine belt pulleys locked up and it threw the belt off. I loaded it back on the trailer and brought it home. I took off the pulley and replaced the bearing as I am cheap. Now that my engine is out of the car I replaced the ...

Wheel bearing drone is quite easy to identify, the drone will increase as loads are put on the wheel and go quiet when load is taken off. Drive the car along a road that is clear of traffic, get up to speed then drop the car in neutral (assume you have a manual and this is only a method of reducing the engine noise to make the drone more easy to hear) then sway the car from left to right, ...

Mine is a 1997... You run a wire from the foglight fuse to pin 86 of the foglight relay. When ignition switch is turned on foglights go on. When highbeams are on, foglights go off.

Again thank you al for the info..it turned out the spaek plug tubes were leaking on the RH cylinder bank. I replaced them. The job without the improvised puller(Marine drain plug) would have been near impossible. Actually the first pullr was made in china and the rubber was too soft so it did not grip the tube, I bought another one with harder rubber stem and I used it to remove the tube on...

Welcome!! Depending on the knob it should just pull off. You will have to give it some force. Thera are some knobs that are held to the shift lever by a screw. Pull the leather boot away from the center console and see if you can see a screw. If so loosen it and the knob will come right off. If no screw that give it a really good PULL and it should come off. Good luck!...
