the hunting was/ is pretty much the same every year, the only difference is maybe the goose hunting. after pricing flights, and flight times, we would have had to stay in edmonton a night coming and going, and hotels, rentals, dinner, nudie bar,..and ....."extras" we figure we saved money taking the jet.................plus that would have been 2 more days of drinking crown and i just dont think my liver could have took...

it was engineered in Morehouse Parish to try and keep shovelers from eating all the rice, keeping snows off it was just another bonus - no have not read it. i saw the cover about raising giant bucks and i am sure there are 964 articles on how to catch speckled trout, but i will more than likely read it soon. if it was written in the sportsman or on wiki[pedia it is true

finally got up to the refuge yesterday. Hwy 143 from the landing bar to cross bayou was shutting down at 6:00. I got out the tree at 5:30 to make it before they shut it down. Got my crap gathered and a big doe was looking at me about 25 yards. Little dark to shoot anyway. There was water coming over the Cross Bayou bridge when i was heading back, but the river should crest today and start falling...

just got back from canada last night, hate to say but the hunting was some of the best i have seen up there over the last decade. LOTS of Mallards and LOTS of geese. we had lots of ICE too which sucked for trying to hunt over a pot hole, but we did lots of field hunting. 316 birds in 2.5 days. for 9 guns. i wil try to get some...
