the cutting comes from a file on the tone board. they "cut" the toneboard in different spots depending on the style of cut they are looking for. some folks cut the big "hump" on the tone board down to make it flatter ......there are several different cuts people use.

Very nice Rick. Good basic stuff that everyone needs to know. There are a few things missing though.... since the weather was so nice the day you recorded a couple of things might be added. How about, ...someone pouring ice water down the back of your neck while you are calling? ...taking your boots off and soaking your feet in ice water? ...a dog like mine whining while you are ...

This is what it is.................the most under-rated, and over looked material for a call out there. Sounds wicked good in a call, without breaking the bank. __________________ If it's banded, and you think you shot it.......you're wrong.

May be the call or the caller but sounds like it's not. The tuning. If you can get the ring on top then you may need to open your throat more to get a better bottom end and vise versa could all be caused by not enough hot air into the call. And then you could just have a dud toneboard.
