I went out this morning too. Got rained on for about 10 minutes and the wind was almost nonexistent as were the birds. I had one speck come in and I somehow managed to miss all three shots I think I only saw three ducks all morning and they were not even close enough to bother trying to call __________________ "I love that there are so many different forms of crazy"

Good job on the quail
I'm painfully aware of just how hard it is to limit on them in that country.....you're right they're never in the easy stuff are they.
Several years of hunting Valleys and Gambels in Baja really spoiled me....I miss actually being able to see the dog on point. Steep and thick sure takes all the easy out of quail huntin'

I'm coming home for the holiday weekend and looking forward to hunting Friday, Saturday. Weather forecast looks pretty benign. Any chance of fog developing in the Delevan-Colusa corridor between now and then?

Each year I have the opportunity to hunt flooded corn in Id. Every year I have a great hunt. This year was no exception. My friend hunts along the Snake River in south east Id. and we ALWAYS have a great time. This year because of the warmer weather (must be global warming ) his club is not holding the number of mallards it normally does. it turned out that this was a good thing. the ducks ...

Sutter problems
I have a buddy that hunted Sutter on Saturday and had some problems with 4 of the regulars in one of the southern assigned ponds. It seems that my friend made it to thier spot first and it pizzed them off. Mike started killing birds which made them even madder and they threated to beat his azz when he left the pond....

George's tuxedo giveaway got me wondering about the "average" duck hunter on here. A size 40 jacket seems crazy to me....I consider myself to be an average sized guy...probably built a little stouter than average, but still within the average range. If somebody asked me to describe the average duck hunter....I'd probably say 5'10" or so, about 200lbs.

might as well say made for idiots who like to shot 60 plus yards at passing birds.

Green is the word
Howdy gents, have only hunted ducks a couple times so far this year, and just got back from the Dakota`s filming for The Birdhunter show, lots of pheasants and not many ducks as it was 60 degrees and most of the ducks were still in Canada. I was jonesing for a good duck hunt, but wasn`t expecting much due to the not...
